At this time, we have providers who are in-network with the following insurances: BCBS, Medicare, McLaren (Medicaid), and Humana Military/Tricare East. Fun First Therapy began in August 2017 in an effort to bring consistent, quality speech and language services to rural locations of Northeast Michigan. We began as an in-home service to families, providing private therapy for the first year, and began contracting with school ISD's in 2018. In 2020, our company widened our network and began contracting with organizations and school districts across Michigan to provide speech and language services. We now offer in-person and virtual Speech-Language, Feeding, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work services to individuals, families, organizations, and school districts throughout the State of Michigan. We also create therapy resources and materials for therapists, teachers, and parents, which are available to purchase on our Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) storefront. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Fun-First-Therapy

Daylight savings time ends on Sunday. Adjusting to the end of Daylight-Savings Time in the fall β€” when clocks β€œfall back” one hour β€” can throw off your internal clock, even though you "gain" an hour of sleep. Adjusting to time changes can be especially challenging for children. Check out our Time Changes/Daylight Savings Social Story on the Fun First Therapy TPT page, to help children better understand the upcoming time change.

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Social-Story-Time-ChangeDaylight-Savings-Time-9158347

We've also included some additional tips to make the transition to the "fall back" easier for the whole family, below:

πŸ• 1. Adjust your schedule gradually
In the week leading up to the time change, go to bed and wake up 10–15 minutes later each day. This helps your body gradually shift to the new rhythm instead of doing it all at once.

🌀 2. Get morning sunlight exposure
Light is the strongest signal for your internal clock. On the first few days after the change, spend 20–30 minutes outside in the morning. Also be sure to open your curtains early to let in natural light β€” it helps your body adjust to the new wake time.

πŸŒ™ 3. Keep your evening routine consistent
Try not to stay up much later just because you β€œgain” an hour. It's also helpful to avoid bright screens and caffeine close to bedtime, since blue light and stimulants can make it more difficult to fall asleep.

🍎 4. Be mindful of food and exercise timing
Eat meals and exercise at the same local time as before the change. This consistency helps reinforce your new daily rhythm.

😴 5. Prioritize good sleep hygiene
Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet. Wind down with a calming activity (like reading or stretching) before bed. Try to avoid naps that are too long or too late in the day.

πŸ’‘ 6. Be patient with yourself and your family as you all adjust
It can take a few days for your body to fully adapt β€” especially for early risers or people sensitive to light changes. You and your family members may feel groggy or out of sync, remember this grogginess should be temporary.
