As we honor Native American Heritage month, we want to shine a spotlight on two of our network members whose Indigenous-led programs are strengthening culture, connection, and community wellbeing across North Central Washington.
The Indigenous Roots and Reparation Foundation (IRRF) is dedicated to preserving Indigenous history, traditions, language, and relationships with the natural world. With support from our 2025 Vital Conditions Grant, IRRF will launch its 2026 Culture Camp—providing land-based education, cultural connection, and traditional practices that foster belonging and intergenerational healing.
The Nature Immersion Program is expanding land-based, culturally responsive education for Tribal and BIPOC youth who was also selected to receive funds from the Vital Conditions Grant. These funds will help launch a new Social Emotional Learning curriculum that will blend emotional wellbeing, leadership, and cultural teachings through a summer culture camp and classroom program, with the long-term goal of sharing it across the Upper Columbia Plateau.
