🎶 Try This Easy Language Trick! 🎶

Singing nursery rhymes with your child is a great way to build language skills. Try pausing before the last word of a familiar line and let your child fill it in!

Example:
🎵 Twinkle, twinkle little… ⭐

This simple strategy helps children:
• Build vocabulary
• Practice turn-taking
• Gain confidence communicating

Even if they only try the word or make a sound, it’s a great communication attempt!

One of our absolute favorite things about being speech-language pathologists is working with babies and toddlers 💛

At this age, language doesn’t happen at a table with flashcards — it happens on the floor, in the play kitchen, with bubbles, cars, baby dolls, and whatever your little one LOVES most.

The key to early language development is using what motivates them. When we follow their lead and build language within play, we’re creating meaningful opportunities for communication. If your child loves cars, we model “go,” “stop,” “fast car!” If they love bubbles, we practice “more,” “pop,” “open.” When they’re engaged, regulated, and having fun — language grows naturally.

Play isn’t just play. It’s connection. It’s engagement. It’s communication. And that’s where real progress begins. 💬✨
