I learned how to make your own incense sticks over the weekend from Aromahead Institute, School of Essential Oil Studies. Can't wait to order supplies and try this out. I'll be looking for volunteers to sample them. Let me know if you are interested!

School will be starting up again soon
and the children will be coming home with colds and other germs. Now's the time to stock up on your Four Thieves oil. It's a great immunity booster and helps fight off all kinds of nasty germs!! Message me if you would like some. It smells good too!! I will also be making up hand sanitizer.

I'm sure with all this hot weather not many people are thinking about the holiday season. It will sneak up before you know it! I've been working on some great hand and feet scrubs this summer that would make great birthday or holiday gifts.

Hannah and I made a foot scrub today with sugar, coconut oil and a mix of my relaxation essential oils. Smells heavenly. I think a lemon or grapefruit scrub will be next on the list. In addition, I just got a recipe for an after sun spray for when you get a little too much sun!! Ingredients in this include aloe vera, witch hazel and peppermint and lavender essential oils. Pictures to follow when everything is all packaged up nicely.

Finally finished up some citronella candles. Price for the small jar is $3 and the price for the larger jar is $6. In addition, I'm making bug spray. This spray is safe to apply on anyone ages 2 and up. I'm just waiting for my lemongrass oil to come in. Let me know if you are interested in any of these.

So now that spring is "hopefully" here, I plan on making my citronella candles again this year. They are made with soy wax and pure citronella essential oil. Once I get some made I will post pictures and prices for different size jars.

Tip #3 - Laundry Freshner - add 5 - 10 drops of grapefruit, lemon or lavender to a damp washcloth. Place it in the dryer while drying your clothes and towels. Remember - don't use fabric softner when drying towels, especially. See my post for wool dryer balls. These are great - they fluff up your towels without leaving fabric softner residue on your towels.

It's almost time for spring cleaning. During the next few days, I'll be posting a few good tips for all natural cleaning. Tip number 1: For an all natural chemical-free wood polisher: Mix 3 tablespoons white vinegar, 1/2 tsp. jojoba oil (or olive oil if you have that), and 10 drops of lemon Essential Oil. Try on a small piece of the wood first. I've used this polish on my dining room furniture so far. It works great and smells fresh.

Tip #2 - Here's what I use for my all-purpose cleaner: Mix 1/4 cup of Castile soap with Tea Tree (I prefer Dr. Bronner's) with 1 quart of water. Add to a spray bottle. Be sure to shake well before using. I also add a little lemon or orange essential oil for a little extra yummy smell. You can use this on sinks, countertops, tubs, and woodwork.
