That’s a wrap on Summer Camp! Day 5 we read “The Truth About My Unbelievable Summer” and discussed the adventures from the book. We discussed our own adventures and various ways we travel before making our own rocket ship while enjoying an ice cream to offset the hot summer day!🚀 The highlight was making homemade bounce balls! We also played in sand for sensory play and practiced letters and spelled our names using pool noodles! Each child got to take home a fun treat bag and book thanks to Christy Shields and Children’s Medical Services. We want to extend a huge thank you to the parents, guardians, and grandparents that entrusted your babies to us this summer for camp! We had a blast and look forward to making this an annual event!

Day 4 was full of adventure! We read “The Hike” then went on an adventure of our own as we looked for items in and around the office for a fun scavenger hunt! As a bonus, we got to watch a team of ants work together to carry a dead bug allllllllllllll the way down the long sidewalk to their colony. It was impressive! Then we made and decorated sketch books, made leaf rubbings, and recorded some items we discovered on our scavenger hunt. We ended the day with s’more pops! 😋

Day 2 of camp was just as much fun! We read “Is it Warm Enough for Ice Cream?” and discussed the 4 seasons, but of course summer is our favorite because it’s warm enough for ice cream which we were sure to have for a tasty snack! In light of the seasons, we made some blue “snow” to play in for our sensory playtime, matched letters using our fave summer footwear-flip flops, made fun drawings with sidewalk chalk, and even had time for a little game of duck-duck-goose! 🍨

Last day of June summer camp was a blast!!! We started out reading “The Truth About My Unbelievable Summer.” We discussed fact/fiction, various ways we can travel, using context clues to help us figure things out, and more! Then we used pool noodle letters to spell our names while discussing letters sounds. We made super cool bouncy balls and tried them out! We ate ice cream and watched bottle rockets! Then we ended the day with more snacks, sidewalk chalk fun, and bubbles! The kids for to select a book to keep and received cool goodies bags! A special thanks to Christy Shields and Children’s Medical Services for donating the books and items for the goodie bags! We are so thankful for everyone who came to camp with us this week and hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Day 4 of camp is in the books! We read “The Hike” which lead to lots of fun conversations and experiments involving gravity, feathers, leaves, rocks, and much more! We shared pur observations, made predictions, tested them, and then went on a short “hike” while on an outdoor A to Z scavenger hunt! We had some great findings then cooled off inside while we made our own sketchbooks! Next we satisfied our sweet tooth by making s’mores pops before making colored salt to explore for sensory play. One day of fun left to finish out our great week at camp!
