You are invited to the 39th Annual Light a Candle: Remembrance Ceremony

Tuesday, December 2rd @ 7 pm at the Trinity Cathedral, Entrance on Goldsborough St.

Candles will be provided, and the candlelight portion of the service will take place outdoors. Please bring a white bow to place on the tree with your child or infant’s name or date of perinatal loss written on it.

A gathering with refreshments will be in Miller Hall following the service.

Hospice care helps family members manage the practical details and emotional challenges of caring for a dying loved one. Talbot Hospice services are offered wherever you call home - in one’s own residence, in assisted living and nursing homes or at Hospice House.

The goal is to provide comfort and dignity to our patients while focusing on improving one’s quality of life instead of on continuing with treatment to prolong one’s life.

Join us on every second Tuesday for a Writing and Storying telling Support Group.

This grief writing-focused support group fosters healing in a safe and compassionate space where individuals coping with loss can express their emotions through writing. Participants are encouraged to share memories, reflect on their feelings, and explore their personal journeys through journaling, poetry, and storytelling.

This month's group will focus on loss, writing six word stories about your experiences with loss.

This Hospice and Palliative Care month we want to dispel common misconceptions of Hospice and Palliative Care. Todays Myth Buster is:

MYTH: Entering Hospice Care means giving up control over your care

FACT: Hospice care is intended to increase quality of life for terminally ill patients, so it cannot be forced on anyone. This form of care is administered by a team of professionals specially trained to provide care and support to meet the patient's medical, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, so treatment varies on a case-by-case basis.

Hospice care can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know what to expect.

We’re here to help. Today, we’re answering the question " Should I Include Hospice Care in my Advanced Care Planning?"

Yes! Advance care planning involves making decisions ahead of time about the health care you would want to receive at the end of life. Studies have shown that patients who have participated in advanced care planning receive care that is more aligned with their wishes and are more satisfied with their care.

If you are interested in Advance Care Planning join our monthly Advance Care Planning meetings every second Thursday of each month from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Every Advance Care Planning Meeting is free and open to the Public.
