An amazing sentiment by Jen Allard, paraphrased to be shareable on IG:

A friend posted a photo today and asked, “What bone is this?” The shape was stunning — wings spread wide, somewhere between anatomy and art. Some said pelvis. Others said sphenoid. Someone joked it looked like a Rorschach test, and I nearly spit out my tea. 🤣

But beneath the humor was something beautiful: these two bones, living at opposite ends of the body, share an uncanny symmetry.

The pelvic bowl and the sphenoid mirror each other like twin wings — one forming our foundation at the base of the body, the other a winged keystone deep behind the eyes. Root and sky. Basin and lantern. Structure and starlight.

In my intraoral and cranial work, we explore this relationship because it’s not just poetic — it’s functional. The sphenoid distributes strain through the cranial base; the pelvis and sacrum answer through the same fascial and dural continuities, like distant dancers moving to the same music.

When one is held or torqued, the other often echoes. When one softens, space appears somewhere unexpected.

Two great gates — lower and upper — moving in harmony. The body loves patterns. Balance is rarely local. Healing often happens in pairs.

MFR is love 💗

Myofascial release is the best gift you can give yourself or to any patient 🎁

It is one of the most profound forms of healing that you will experience. Fascia infuses every nerve, every blood vessel, every cell.

MFR addresses restrictions at the cellular level. MFR allows the therapist to connect deeply with the patient and for the patient to connect deeply with their essence.

It all comes back to love 💕

The internet is beaming over, “Buccal Massage.” Which highlights the aesthetic benefits of sculpting the soft tissue. What seems like a new craze is nothing new to us as we’ve been using Myofascial Release on the face, neck, head, and jaw for decades to release tension, increase circulation, smooth lines, and relax muscles. Plus MFR on the face, head, and neck is soothing for the nervous system.

Fascial Facials are a part of our offerings at SerendipPT and be incorporated into any session. The benefits are more than what meets the eye!

Symptoms may not occur in the area of the dysfunction.

For example - Tug on your shirt at the bottom right area. Where do you notice the pulling sensation?

Now, stand in front of a mirror and look at your body.

Notice where it deviates from midline and what is not level. Are the shoulders even? Is your head centered over the body? Is the waist angle the same on the left as that of the right?

Fascia connects us head to toe. A restriction in one area of the body can cause problems elsewhere. Everything is connected.

Sometimes, when we have pain in numerous places in our body, it feels like we are falling apart. They may all be symptoms of the same problem.

Here is how to do a lateral trunk elongation to help balance the pelvis and relieve low back pain at home!

Find a pillow and place to lay down. Place the pillow under you side right below the ribs, above the hip. Bend the bottom leg, making space and stability to extend that top leg long and slightly backward. Extend the top arm up and away creating space in the side body.

Hold and breathe. Feel the release, remain here for a minute or two and then repeat on the opposite side.

Get Released, Feel Relief.

Fascia! Have you heard of it?

It is a continuous web of connective tissue that runs throughout your entire body! Playing a critical role in movement, posture, and overall health.

When we have adhesions and tension in the fascia, this can cause pain and pressure. Addressing this and releasing the fascia relieves this pressure allowing for the tissue to move more freely.
