Today marks Overdose Awareness Day
A significant reminder of the ongoing crisis we face.
According to the CDC, approximately overdose deaths have increased by 30% in the past year alone, with opioids accounting for over 70% of these fatalities.
This day serves to honor those who have lost their lives to overdoses while advocating for prevention and support for those affected. Let's raise awareness and work towards solutions to combat this epidemic.

You can help raise awareness about overdose and substance use disorders in several impactful ways:

1. **Educate Yourself and Others**
Learn about the signs of overdose, the effects of various substances, and the resources available for those struggling. Share this knowledge with friends and family.

2. **Participate in Local Events**
Join or organize local events, such as walks, vigils, or educational seminars, to bring the community together and foster discussions about overdose prevention.

3. **Utilize Social Media**

Thrive Therapeutics is seeking to employ a Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist for its My Neighbor’s House recovery support center in Eaton, OH. Qualified applicants will:

• Have lived experience with a substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health & substance use disorder.
• Desire to use their current recovery story to assist others with the same goal.
• Exhibit competency in the use of coping skills.
• Serve as an advocate, provide information and peer support in an outpatient setting.
• Assist others in regaining independence within the community and ownership over their own recovery process.
• Facilitate individual and group activities.
• Be able to clearly document their interactions with clients in a computer-based electronic health record.
• Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines.
Job Qualifications and Required Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have lived experience with a substance use disorder
• Must satisfy state requirements for Certified Peer Recovery Support including being registered through OMHAS as a Certified Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter within 90 days of employment.
