We had so much fun at the Cook Rutledge Mansion this past Wednesday for two packed houses of Holiday “Afternoon” Tea.

Complete with:

1 Pineapple Upside Down Cake
2 Italian Olive Oil Chocolate Chip Scones
3 Pomegranate Date Caramel Twix Bars 
4 Pesto & Smoked Salmon Naan
5 Christmas Sugar Cookies (dye free)
6 Sweet Spiced Nuts (grain free)

And a yummy prosciutto, pear, and honey dairy free cream cheese crostini. As well as an assortment of cozy teas and honey.

We see a lot of people these days for chronic constipation. Which can mean a lot of root cause potential underlying causes:

***Mold
***Parasites
***Trauma (either from a physical event or emotional) - not being in a parasympathetic state
***Food Sensitivities - wheat/gluten or dairy sensitivity alone can do this
***Low Stomach Acid - which won’t signal to the rest of the steps of digestion to work properly, including CCK while induces fat digestion
***Being on a PPI/H2 blocker or acid reducer long term
***Toxin Build Up which leads to Sluggish Bile

Here are some natural ways to induce peristalsis (movement of food and nutrients through the colon), and help to support healthy bowel moments.

These can usually be found at a local health foods store -

*Magnesium (citrate or glycinate)
*Aloe Vera
*Castor oil - organic and hexane free (can be used internally or topically on the liver).
*Psyllium Husk (which is a functional fiber, or other soluble fibers such as soaked chia/flax, or pectin from pears and apples.
*Smooth Move Tea (Senna Leaf) Traditional Medicines
*Enzymetica digestive enzymes - which allow the different steps of the digestive breakdown
***Minerals and Electrolytes- which work as cofactors to signal for digestion to biochemically occur
*Apple cider vinegar in water - support stomach acid and gentle digestion and liver clearance which will help with the production of bile flow

MiraLAX, Dulcolax, or Metamucil plus throwing more random “FIBER” in the system is not going to help the body long term. We want to help to discover WHY the body is having difficulty eliminating waste.

You are welcome to try these all alongside or before working with a practitioner. We also have other more specialized herbs, homeopathies, and concentrated practitioner-grade concentrated nutrients that we use therapeutically that can be applied in times where we are finding imbalances or dysfunction in the body.

I definitely have had to use these tactics myself. I love that we have tools to help listen to what the body needs. It’s amazing! 🤍

Spanish tapas are meant for sharing — bold, flavorful bites that celebrate simplicity and seasonal ingredients. Catalonian pintxos (pin-chos) bring playful elegance: artful, bite-sized creations traditionally served atop bread and enjoyed one at a time. Danish smørrebrød offers a Nordic contrast — beautifully layered open-faced “sandwiches” built with balance, texture, and fresh, thoughtful toppings.
