Happy Friday!
It's time to introduce Isaac Hahn, our Director of Internal Support! 🤩
I have spent the last 20 years serving as a career firefighter. A role that shaped how I see people, community, and purpose. After many years of service, I realized I wanted to continue helping others, but in a way that focused on building people up before they ever reached a crisis point.
During that time, I reached out to a close friend and mentor, David Carlson, in hopes of finding some volunteer work that would allow me to stay connected to service. Instead, David offered me something more. A position with CC We Adapt. What began as an opportunity to give back evolved into one of the most meaningful and fulfilling chapters of my life.
Giving back has always been deeply important to me. I grew up in subsidized housing and spent much of my adolescence involved with a gang. The mentors who stepped into my life during those years changed my path completely. Without their guidance, my story would look very different today and that’s a truth I carry with me in every aspect of my work.
Today, I have the privilege of operating in two different, yet connected, worlds. On the peer support and mentoring side, I’ve learned that the most powerful intervention is prevention. When we help someone build resilience, emotional regulation, and connection early on, we can often prevent the very emergencies that require first responders later.
From the first responder side, I see the reality of what happens when those support systems are missing. I meet people in moments of crisis and trauma, and I have the privilege of being there to help often on the worst day of their lives.
For me, CC We Adapt is where these two worlds meet. It’s the bridge between prevention and response, a place where the lessons I’ve learned through years of service can shape systems of support that reach people long before the alarm ever sounds.
Thank you, Isaac, for all of the important roles you play in our community! We are thankful to have you on our team!
