A small daily reframe ❤️

I know the week isn’t over yet… but a lot has been happening within the session walls this week! 🤩

A couple things that you should know about my style as a therapist:

❇️ I am human first. I will not put on a facade or a performance with you. And yes, this means that you will likely hear me swear sometimes.

🔹 I am going to call out your actions and behaviors that don’t align with the goals that YOU tell me you want for yourself. Yes, I will challenge gently if that’s what’s needed ❤️

This idea has been coming up a lot in sessions lately…

This could look like:
📍You making a point to arrive to someone else’s event on time (with the intention to be prompt and respectful), yet someone else consistently showing up late to your events.

📍Communicating your frustrations to a loved one (in hopes of change and continuing a healthy relationship), yet this loved one ghosting you when something is bothering them.

…there are a plethora of examples within this notion.

We cannot thank you enough for the continued trust in Genuine Way! The client results that we have been seeing lately are absolutely beautiful and profound.

> A teen navigating through healthier communication strategies is no longer intensely isolating and is opening up to his parents
> A single Dad feeling more confident overall, seeing his worth, and believing in his parenting abilities
> A Mom no longer living in fear due to her ability to reframe her thoughts and take further control of the 'controllables' within a narcissistic abuse dynamic

The mental load of motherhood is SUCH a real thing. It can feel overwhelming, enraging, and depleting to try to navigate.

As a small starting point, I encourage you to think of the 4️⃣ components of the mental load:

✅ Anticipate
✅ Identify
✅ Decide
✅ Monitor

Here’s a real life example:
• Anticipate: You have a school age child and summer is nearing the end. You’re anticipating the needs for the upcoming school year (supplies, etc.)
• Identify: You search and locate the school supply list. You think of where you’ll need to go to or where you’ll need to order from to have all the required items.
• Decide: You go to the store & pick out the items needed/wanted for your child.
• Monitor: You check in with your child/teacher to see if they are getting low on supplies, find out if they’ve outgrown gym shoes, etc. and start the cycle all over again if needs arise.

This is just ONE example of the mental load and ONE item that could be within your mental load checklist.
