Lose 5-10 lbs in a week? What are you really losing? One pound of fat equals 3500 calories. Do the math folks! Do you really think you can reduce your calories or burn 17,500-35,000 extra calories in a week? You are losing water weight, stored glycogen and muscle( because of stress to your hormones). You are also losing nutrients, energy and messing with your metabolism. Your brain, kidneys, heart and liver (145 ) alone needs at least 800 -1,000 calories a day to function ( this is the reason diet apps won't ever let you go under 1200 calories). So the next time you lose 5- 10 pounds fast, don't get too excited. The muscle and fat (maybe) that you lost, you will likely gain it back ......in the form of fat and water weight. Even if your scale goes back to your original weight, your whole body composition has already changed ( if you yo-yo diet think of what this does to your body over time). Fuel your body with complex carbs, lean protein and lots of veggies. The best detox diet is don't eat s**t food.- Emily Balow
