𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 (𝗙𝗲𝗯. 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – A KYTC contractor will continue lane restrictions on I-24 eastbound near mile point 40.8 in Lyon County through approximately Wednesday, Mar. 4, weather permitting.

📍This is between Exit 40 (U.S. 62/U.S. 641) and Exit 42 at the I-24/I-69 Interchange.
🦺Crews are reinforcing support beams on the K**b Creek bridge to remove current weight limits impacting 40-ton trucks and other commercial vehicles.

𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑨𝑯𝑬𝑨𝑫:
✔️ Expect a westbound lane restriction starting Friday, Feb. 27 in the same area. Will last 2-3 weeks WB, so there will be one-lane traffic both EB and WB for a short period of time (approx. Feb. 27 to Mar. 4).

🔜The bridge is structurally sound and safe to cross within posted weight limits. Restrictions are expected to be lifted after repairs and inspection. Additional bridges in Fulton and Graves counties will be scheduled for similar repairs at a later date.

UPDATE: 8:45am Sunday

ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ONLY PLEASE

After consultation with road crews, first responder agencies, and the Judge-Executive’s office, we respectfully request the public refrain from being on the roadways unless it is for emergency or essential travel.

We have had multiple 4-wheel-drive vehicles get stuck in the last half-hour. We have many abandoned vehicles at intersections and elsewhere which are slowing the snow plowing efforts by our dedicated road crews.

We had sleet falling in the Kuttawa area around 8:15am and we have snow falling in the Eddyville area now. If you must travel, be prepared to be stranded for a long period of time if you get stuck.

It is 19 degrees in Lyon County and it feels like 2 degrees. If you are safe and warm where you are at, it may be a better choice to stay there until road conditions improve.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 (𝗡𝗼𝘃. 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱) – Overnight closures on I-24 near Exit 27/Kentucky Dam/Calvert City in Marshall County are planned tonight, Nov. 5, and Thursday, Nov. 6.

I-24 will be blocked at the bridge over U.S. 62 at Exit 27 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. The I-24 eastbound on-ramp at U.S. 62 (near Love’s Travel Stop) will also be blocked.

Detours will be in place with law enforcement and flaggers guiding traffic. Crews are reinforcing bridge shoulders and widening the eastbound on-ramp.

𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 (𝟵 𝗣𝗠 - 𝟲 𝗔𝗠):

🔶Nov. 5 – I-24 (Both Directions) near Exit 27
➡️EB Detour via Exit 27 → U.S. 62 → KY 453 → return to I-24 EB at Exit 31.
➡️WB Detour via Exit 27 off-ramp to U.S. 62, back up the on-ramp to I-24 WB.

🔶Nov. 6 – I-24 Eastbound Only near Exit 27
➡️EB Detour via Exit 27 → U.S. 62 → KY 453 → return to I-24 EB at Exit 31.
❗️No WB Detour is anticipated.

⚠️All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
📢Please allow extra travel time and use caution in the work zone.

𝑃𝐿𝐸𝐴𝑆𝐸 𝑁𝑂𝑇𝐸: Work could finish earlier than 6 a.m. each night.

This phase of construction is expected to continue through mid-December, weather permitting.
