Today, Easton is six years old and continues his speech therapy journey with Urban Speech & Occupational Therapy. His mother reports they “are constantly in awe of how far he has come. What started as learning how to speak has grown into learning how to connect, express himself, and move through the world with confidence.”

Easton receives speech therapy once a week. His goals are now focused on longer sentences and more challenging sounds. A combination of visual, verbal, and tactile cues, paired with the principles of motor learning, has been used to help him achieve his goals. With childhood apraxia of speech, treatment is dynamic and can often change as a child grows.

Easton’s parents report he “now shares stories, jokes, and big feelings—things we once only dreamed of hearing. He talks about his day, communicates his needs, and engages with others in ways that feel natural and joyful. The growth we see isn’t just in his speech, but watching his confidence shine.”
