When we first started working together, Emi told me: “Ms. Courtney you might get me to read but you’ll never make me like it. ” - but by the end of our sessions Emi and I were gushing over the books she was reading! 📚

Convergence Insufficiency once made near tasks exhausting and frustrating — but look at her now! 🙌✨

Through commitment, consistency, and so much determination, she improved her eye-teaming and built the visual skills she needed to thrive.

Now she’s excelling at what she loves most — drawing, diamond painting, and creating for hours with comfort and confidence. 🎨💎 No more avoiding the activities that bring her joy.

Shoe tying is more than finger strength.

It requires:
👀Visual tracking

Welcome to Fine Motor February!!
We are kicking off this month with a little MVTC competition!

In this video we see our therapists and Dr. T battling it out with our Grooved Pegboard to see who can complete it the fastest.

A tip from the winner:
“The KEY to getting the KEY in the slot... (get it!) is to let my eyes lead my hands and not the other way around! My trick is that I really think about how I am using my eyes! I want my eyes to tell my hands what to do and not trying to just move my hands all over the place until I get it right. “

When a Vision Therapy Graduation becomes a Vision Therapy Family Reunion!! 👏🙌🎉 we LOVE it! On their final day of VT Colton and Isaac were surprised by their 2 older siblings AND cousin, who are also all MVTC graduates!! It was so fun to see and celebrate these patients, both past and present!

Congratulations to Colton and Issac for completing their VT programs!! We are so proud of both of them!

Here’s what their mom has to say about their experience with Minnesota Vision Therapy Center:

“We loved our experience with MVTC, this is our 3rd and 4th child to go through the program and we believe in the work they do. It has changed our children’s futures for the better. We have seen their confidence grow while reading and also life skills. We are grateful for the scheduling if we had to change days because of a school activity. Overall they have become family who care and cheer on my children through the good times and tough struggles.

Colton struggled at knowing and retaining letters and numbers. He was unable to read full sentences. He can now read books and words fluently. He has stamina to finish books and more patience with himself when he stumbles on a word. Colton has a bright future because of the skills he has learned at MVTC.

Isaac didn’t know his letters or numbers before starting MVTC. He is now reading books and can say his numbers. We have seen lots of progress in Isaac’s reading and letter recognition.

There are no words to express the gratitude we have for MVTC. We can’t thank them enough for helping us care for each child individually.”

🌟 VISION THERAPY GRAD 🌟

Meet Cora! 👩‍🎓 She’s worked hard over the last year to overcome her daily headaches and constant double vision 😣. Her positive attitude and hard work ethic were a big contribution to her success in vision therapy. 🙌

Here’s what Cora’s parents had to say about her vision therapy journey -

“Cora was having almost daily headaches since kindergarten. We brought her to the medical doctor multiple times and found nothing wrong. We brought her to the eye doctor where she noticed her one eye wasn’t tracking as it should. She said we could wait on it, and see what happens. Or we could be refered to MVTC. Since she was having symptoms, we decided to go for our evaluation. At our eval Mindy asked “Cora, do you ever see double?” Cora responded in a totally normal way “Yea, I do, all the time”. Everyone’s vision is unique to them. We as parents had no idea this was happening. And would have never thought to ask her this! So we went forward with vision therapy.

Her headaches are basically completely gone. She has no motion sickness anymore. And she reads books ALL THE TIME!”

Vision Therapy can be beneficial for people of all ages!

Today we are celebrating Bridget!

Bridget came into vision therapy struggling to get through the work day. She had consistent headaches, vision blurring, dizziness, carsickness, and had a hard time reading, especially for long periods of time. She has battled her way through these things her entire life.

Since graduating from vision therapy, Bridget has been able to utilize her visual system to navigate life with greater ease. She has some amazing things to say about her experience at MVTC.

“I am an event planner and am often in big spaces. I used to struggle to place objects, like seeing which ones are closer or father across the room. But this has gotten so much better and I am able to cope with any disorientation. I have way more awareness of my surroundings and peripheral. I also get way less headaches.

I am now able to relax my field of sight and see the whole “picture” clearly. When I feel like my vison is dysregulated, I can fix it or adapt. I feel much more in control of my vision. The process happens slowly, overtime. Learning how to adjust your vision / how you are seeing is super helpful!”
