Achieving Cures Together

Achieving Cures Together Achieving Cures Together supports academic research focused on alternative, natural therapies in order to progress cures for persistent chronic diseases.

Achieving Cures Together is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to finding cures by supporting research in emerging areas of science. As a patient you often wonder, "Why are there so many drugs and so few cures?" We are exploring this question by supporting research opportunities where the financial model might not suffice, yet there is tremendous scientific potential. To do this, we collaborate with other research programs, and bring bright, creative, and impassioned people together to be a part of a solution. Our number one priority is to support the operations of a GMP facility. This facility enables production of a high-quality, encapsulated gut-microbe product to be used in advancing life-changing research. As a supplier of this product, we will play an important role in microbiome research.

We want to extend a huge thank you to our Achieving Cures Together community. 2025 has been nothing short of inspiring; ACT celebrated our 10th birthday, funded the first year of an Ulcerative Colitis clinical trial at the University of Minnesota, and raised over $650,000 through the support of our Growing Hope attendees, marathon teams, pickleball tournament, and the incredible generosity of the ACT community. Your partnership is fueling the advancement of Microbiota Transplant Therapy research, providing hope to patients and their families, and ultimately saving lives. We are energized to continue expanding our mission and impact in 2026 and grateful for the ACT village of patients, friends, family members, and advocates who make this work possible.

Our final runner highlight from the Twin Cities Marathon is Dr. Alexa Weingarden an Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota. Here's what she said about running for ACT, "I'm running for ACT to help fund trials for microbial therapeutics, ACT is making these treatments into reality. I want to support this critical mission!" Our mission is personal and our vision is clear.

Founded in 2015, Achieving Cures Together (ACT) supports collaborative academic research focused on natural therapies. Within the medical research community, natural therapies are often overlooked. These treatments are challenging to study and potentially even more difficult to find a clear, successful path to commercialization. As a result, natural therapies are often ignored, even though the natural environment may provide cures to some of today’s most pressing diseases.

Currently, ACT is supporting research focused on the human microbiome. Through Intestinal Microbiota Transplantation (IMT), ACT is exploring the relationship between microbial restoration and diseases like Clostridium difficile, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease, Obesity, Autism, Cancer and more. Join our team in this endeavor as we are Achieving Cures Together!
