Spring tends to get people moving again. More walks, yard work, bike rides, and projects around the house. I love seeing it. 🚶‍♂️🌷

But every year around this time, I also see the same pattern in the office. People start being more active, and suddenly their backs, necks, or hips start feeling tight. 😬

The truth is, a lot of that stiffness has been building all winter quietly. Spring just reveals itself once your body starts doing more. 🌱

📝 I wrote a quick blog about why spring is actually the best time to address lingering pain and stiffness before they turn into something bigger.

“I think I just overdid it this weekend.” 🤕

Yard work, workouts, sports, house projects… and suddenly the back, neck, or shoulders are really talking.

But most of the time, the issue didn’t actually start that day. Small aches, tightness, or stiffness usually build slowly over time. The extra activity just reveals what was already brewing under the surface.

Your body is really good at sending early warning signals. A tight neck, a stiff lower back, or soreness that keeps coming back are often signs that your body needs a little support before it becomes a bigger problem.

A few simple habits can help prevent those “I overdid it” moments. Try warming up before physical activity, changing positions often during yard work or projects, and paying attention to any small tightness rather than pushing through it.

Taking care of the small things early usually keeps them from becoming the big things later.

Now I’m curious… what activity usually makes you say, “Yep… I definitely overdid it.” 😅

Most people think about spinal alignment when they have back or neck pain. But alignment actually plays a much bigger role in how your body functions every day.

Your spine protects your nervous system, which controls balance, coordination, movement, and even your overall energy. When the spine is moving well, your body can communicate and respond more efficiently.

That’s one reason people often notice they feel more balanced, move more smoothly, and sometimes even feel more energized when their body is functioning better. ⚡

Keeping your body aligned and moving well helps support the way your body handles everyday stress, movement, and activity. Schedule your appointment if you want to support your spine, balance, and overall movement.

Spring has a funny way of making us ambitious again. 🌱

Suddenly, we’re walking more, biking more, cleaning out the garage, tackling yard projects, and trying to be more active after a long winter. I love seeing it. 🚶‍♂️🚴‍♂️🌤️

But every year around this time, I see the same thing in the office. People start moving more, and their bodies aren’t quite ready for it yet. 🤕

Tight backs. Stiff necks. Hips and shoulders that suddenly start talking back. 🦴😬

Your spine plays a bigger role in movement than most people realize. When it’s aligned and moving well, your body handles activity a lot better. 👍

I shared more about how spinal alignment supports an active spring lifestyle in my latest blog. 📝

Grateful for the opportunity to get away with my family and make some memories. It was fun to support my daughter Addison and the Shakopee High School Choir on their France Tour. They sounded amazing. The rest of us went to Belgium and France.

Life tends to speed up this time of year. More activities, more movement, and busier schedules. I love seeing people get outside, exercise, and stay active again.

But when activity increases, your nervous system and spine work harder to keep everything moving smoothly. If you stop supporting your body during the busiest seasons, that’s usually when tightness, posture issues, and pain start to show up.

A simple tip I give patients is to take a quick posture and movement break during the day. Standing up, stretching, or walking for even a minute or two can help your spine reset and keep your body from getting overly tight.

Staying consistent with your care helps your body keep up with the pace of life, rather than constantly trying to catch up to stress and activity.

I love finding ways to support our community outside the office.

Last month, I had the chance to sponsor the Shakopee High School baseball team, which was a lot of fun. It’s always great cheering on local athletes as they head into their season. ⚾

Recently, I also sponsored one of my patients who is doing the Polar Plunge Minnesota to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota. That means jumping into freezing cold water for a great cause… and I’m pretty happy to be the sponsor instead of the one jumping in. 😄❄️

It’s always inspiring to see people step up to support such an amazing organization and the athletes they serve. Proud to be part of a community that gives back.

A lot of people sit most of the day… then try to make up for it by being super active later. Walks, yard work, workouts, golf, biking. I love seeing people move more.

But here’s what usually happens. Your body goes from “office chair mode” for hours straight to “weekend warrior mode.” That quick switch can put double stress on your neck and back, especially when you go from sitting to bending, lifting, twisting, and moving.

That’s usually when the tightness and soreness start showing up. The good news is that a few small habits can make a big difference.

🔷 Stand up every 30–60 minutes so your spine isn’t stuck in “desk mode” all day.
🔷 Keep your screen at eye level so your neck isn’t constantly looking down.
🔷 Relax your shoulders instead of creeping closer and closer to your screen.
🔷 Do a quick warm-up before activity, even 2–3 minutes helps your body switch from sitting to moving.
🔷 Change positions often when doing yard work or outdoor projects.
🔷 Pay attention to early tightness before it turns into bigger pain.

Taking care of your posture during the day makes outdoor activity a lot easier on your body, so if your neck or back has been feeling it lately, book your appointment today using the link below. 📅

Every spring, I see the same pattern. The weather gets nicer, people start moving more… and suddenly their back or neck feels tight.

Most of the time, it’s not the specific activity that’s the problem. It’s going from a slower winter pace to doing a lot more all at once. Your body just needs time to catch up.

If you want to stay active this spring without the aches and pains, here are a few simple things I always recommend:

✅ Start slower than you think you need to.
✅ Take a minute to warm up before an activity.
✅ Change positions often.
✅ Pay attention to small warning signs like stiffness or tightness.

Spring is one of my favorite times of year because people start moving again. I just want your body to enjoy it too.

💡 Follow along if you want more simple tips like this to help you stay active, move better, and avoid those little aches that tend to show up when the season gets busy.

Every year it happens. 🌤️

The weather gets nice, you start yardwork, sports, and outdoor projects… and a few weeks later your back tightens, your shoulder flares, or your knees start complaining. 🌱

It’s usually not one big injury. It’s months of stiffness and repetition finally catching up. ⏳

I always tell my patients: first we catch up to the problem, then we keep up with it. Outdoor season is the perfect time to do both. 💪

I just shared a blog on how to prevent sports and yardwork injuries before they start, and how preventative chiropractic care helps you stay active long term. 📖

Ever feel tired for no good reason… even when you slept fine? 🫩

I see this all the time.

When your spine isn’t moving well, your body has to work harder just to get through the day. That extra effort drains your physical and mental energy more than you realize.

Here’s what better alignment can do:

⚡ Improve nervous system communication
🧠 Reduce brain fog
💪 Decrease muscle compensation
📈 Boost energy and productivity

I’m not just adjusting backs. I’m helping your body function more efficiently so you’ve got more in the tank for work and life.

Every spring, I see the same thing.

You go from “winter mode” to full-on athlete in a weekend. 🏃‍♂️⛳

Then the lower back tightens. The shoulders bark. The hamstring grabs.

Most sports and outdoor injuries don’t just happen. They build. Tight joints. Weak links. Poor mobility. Repetition.

With the right adjustments and targeted rehab exercises, we can improve mobility, reduce stress on overworked areas, and help prevent minor issues from becoming season-ending injuries.
