Heartburn isn’t always “too much acid.”
In many cases, it’s actually:
• Low stomach acid
• Gut dysbiosis
• H. pylori or other infections
• Poor motility
• Mineral imbalances
• Chronic stress affecting vagal tone
When stomach acid is LOW, food doesn’t break down properly.
It ferments.
Pressure builds.
The valve between the stomach and esophagus opens… and reflux happens.
Suppressing acid might reduce symptoms.
But if the real issue is dysbiosis, infection, or impaired digestion…
acid suppression doesn’t fix that.
We have to restore function:
✔️ microbial balance
✔️ adequate acid production
✔️ motility
✔️ nervous system regulation
Root cause > symptom control.
