It's National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week!
Studies have shown pulmonary rehabilitation significantly reduces symptoms of COPD, asthma, and other chronic lung diseases, while improving exercise tolerance, quality of life, and mood.
If you or someone you know, have been limited by a lung condition, pulmonary rehabilitation services could be a pathway to breathing easier.

The final social media feature of the week is from our Healing Garden Manager, Mark Dwyer.
We start off Foliage Fridays with some Chocolate - (the scent of chocolate in our Healing Garden that is :)
The raised beds out in the healing garden have always offered the perfect location for a wide range of scented plants to be experienced and enjoyed by visitors at waist level. The fragrances of rose, lemon, pine, vanilla, peppermint and even chocolate will again be part of the 2026 display. Chocolate cosmos is our “go-to” plant for that sweet fragrance, most intense at the end of the day.

I’ve grown chocolate cosmos (Cosmos atrosanguineus) every year for decades as I enjoy both the extremely dark maroon flowers and the subtle scent of dark chocolate that these flowers provide at close proximity. Native to Mexico where it is considered a rare perennial, chocolate cosmos is found in mixed pine and oak forests at elevations between 6,000 to 8,000 ft. Introduced into commerce in 1885, this amazing plant is an annual for us and its popularity is not only for the scent but also significant pollinator value.
The tuberous roots can be dug in fall and stored over winter for replanting the following year. The scent, from up close, is simply divine and literally smells like dark chocolate. Come enjoy all the sensory engagement out in the garden this year and find the chocolate out in the healing garden.

Here is a recent comment a patient wanted us to share, to show the amazing care we provide and great teamwork of our different departments and specialists.

“I would like to honor all the wonderful staff who took care of me yesterday at the walk-in clinic, x-ray, ortho and the hand clinic. Special tributes to Dr. Dahm, Jackie Roggenbuck, Sue and Jenny at walk-in, and Jacinda.” - Susan, from Evansville, WI

Susan, our team was happy to help and we hope you heal up soon!
