Spent the weekend in Nashville at a vascular occlusion complication management conference—two full days of nothing but VO.

Walking away with small but meaningful tweaks to my injection technique, all in the name of keeping my patients safer while still delivering beautiful results. Bonus: I had the chance to connect with incredible providers from Denver and across the country, and finally met some Instagram friends in real life! Jampacked, exhausting, and so worth it!

Thank you .subbio and for putting on an amazing conference, always pushing the states quo and giving no f’s while doing it.

Tox resistance is a thing, but it’s actually pretty rare.

One reason it happens though? Too frequent treatments.

When you’re getting treated…then coming back for a “tweak”…then a brow lift a few weeks later…then a lip flip…then another quick touch-up before an event—you’re repeatedly exposing your immune system to the neurotoxin.

Over time, that can increase the likelihood of developing antibodies.

Those antibodies can mean:
→ Less effective treatments
→ Shorter duration
→ Or worst case…no response at all 😭

So if I’m strict about timing and not treating you again until you’re actually due (every ~3–4 months)…this is why.

What I’ve learned in my few short years of business is that it’s nearly impossible to do this alone.

You need people in your corner who are walking the same path. Some ahead of you, with experience and wisdom you just don’t have yet.

I’m really grateful to connect with other women in this space where we can talk shop, strategize, problem-solve, and actually support each other (no, really. none of that catty, competitive BS). This whole thing gets a lot easier when you surround yourself with people who GET IT.

Left this weekend with new connections and a much clearer vision for the rest of 2026!

What does Sculptra actually do?

Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator. It’s not a filler.

When injected, it tells your body’s natural collagen production to get moving to gradually smooth wrinkles, replenish lost volume, and improve skin tightness.

What it’s really doing is rebuilding structure OVER TIME. Because aging isn’t just lines on the surface—it’s loss of collagen and support underneath. That’s what leads to the heaviness, hollowing, and the deeper folds and shadows we see in the mirror. So when I’m recommending Sculptra, I’m treating that deeper issue—restoring support in areas like the cheeks, temples, and jawline, while also improving skin quality like firmness and texture.

How many Sculptra vials you “need” isn’t a fixed number. It’s based on how much collagen your face has lost and where you are in the aging process.

A good rule of thumb is 1–2 vials per decade of life to start the treatment series, then 1–2 vials every 12–18 months for maintenance…but your plan should always be individualized. I don’t ever like to do a generic number or guess, but instead I’ll give you an honest treatment plan.

This is a conversation I have almost daily.

Neurotoxin (bot0x, etc.) treats the muscle. That’s it. Yes, it softens lines by relaxing the muscle that sits underneath the skin. But it will not fully erase deeper lines or the ones you’re still staring at after treatment wondering why they’re still there 🤔

That’s a skin issue. And it can only be addressed by actually treating the skin…so anything that helps build and preserve collagenand elastin. Think retinoids, vitamin C, microneedling, and biostimulators like Sculptra

You can have the BEST injectables in the world, but if your skin quality is still poor, your results will be underwhelming my friends. Skin health is the foundation for everything else we do in the chair.

Don’t skip it!
