A Major Milestone in Firefighter Health 🔥

After 18 months of relentless pursuit and collaboration, we’re proud to unveil the region’s first-ever comprehensive Firefighter Cancer Screening Program — a groundbreaking initiative designed to safeguard those who risk everything for us.

Firefighters face significantly higher occupational cancer risks, and we’re proud to lead the charge in transforming prevention. This pioneering program includes:

✅ Full physical exam, lab work, and urinalysis
✅ Detailed full-body skin survey
✅ Low-dose chest CT scan

Together, we’re setting a new standard in proactive care — because protecting those who protect us isn’t just a mission, it’s a promise.

Union Fire Chief Aaron Gruelle was the first to participate, honoring the legacy of Fire Captain Travis Ransom, who tragically passed from non-smoking lung cancer at just 49.

💬 “If lung cancer can find him, it can find anybody.” – Lisa Ransom

This quick, 3-minute scan could be life-saving. Let’s raise awareness and support early detection. Because every hero deserves a fighting chance. 💙

Taco 'bout a festive first Halloween! 🌮🎃

This little one is serving up serious cuteness in the NICU — with a neonatologist joining in on the fun!

Katie, the mom of the baby pictured, shared:
"The St. Elizabeth NICU care team has gone above and beyond with their care of our sweet boy over the past month. Born at 33 weeks and IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), they have managed to make the hardest moment of ours lives as manageable, comfortable, and positive as possible. Everything from making encouraging signs for us with our baby’s foot prints, to giving us books to read to him, to just simply keeping us informed of his daily care. We are leaving here confident in our ability to care for our preemie and his needs thanks to our new St. Elizabeth NICU family!"

Thank you to the St. Elizabeth NICU team for helping babies and their families celebrate their first holidays and milestones.

And a special thank-you to the students from St. Henry District High School Art Club for designing all the baby costumes!
