Breathe 379

Its a little after 7pm, and Im sitting here working at my desk on some final things for The Breathe 379 Fall Festival & Chili Cookoff. I turn and look and realize that the lights are off, the room is quiet except for the fan of the space heater under my desk, things are stacked and ready to be moved outside tomorrow for set up. My mind quickly goes to all the work that has been done over the last couple of days in preparation. A scripture pops in my mind. Romans 13.7 "...In the same way, give honor and respect to those who deserve it."

The 3 ladies pictured in the photo below (yes I know I posted it yesterday) have worked so hard over the last few days. From cleaning to organizing to hand crushing candy for the caramel apples they coated today to hand painting 2 liter bottles to look like corn husks to....well...you get the point.

Whether there are 5 people here tomorrow, or 500...Wanda, Gerri and Cheryl have done an amazing job at executing what needed to be done. When you show up tomorrow...for this little fundraiser...you will experience the same heart and care that goes into every outreach we get to do, every Wednesday that we serve. This is what makes Breathe 379 different. It is the heart of volunteers like this that work tirelessly simply because they love "you".

Thank you ladies for serving....but mostly for caring so deeply.

The work continues...
Thankful for Farmer Rick, Christy & Brad for delivering hay/straw today.
Thankful for Neighbor Larry & GA Mike for coming in to help arrange hay bales and do a little yard work.

Looking for a few guys to meet at Breathe's Hope Center at 9am to unload about 30 bails of hay. Wont take long if a few fellas show up to help out.

Its happening!!! We're here getting ready for The Breathe 379 Fall Festival & Chili Cookoff and cant wait to see you!!!

Grab a blanket, lawn chairs, a coat...and come hang out for a relaxing afternoon with great music from Nothin' ta Plunder...hot dogs, caramel apples, popcorn, hot chocolate/coffee...and more.

We are so humbled and blown away by the support we have been getting. Both from folks donating to folks trusting us to walk through life with them.

We know that honestly, we cannot do any of this alone - there is no way. We say, and truly believe
Without community, near and far, without you, the 170 folks that were provided for today...would not have been.

There would be no food, no clothes, no place that we could sit and walk with a mom trying to survive raising kids on her own, a father trying to feed his family, an older person needing for someone to remember their name over a cup of coffee...it just would not happen.

True, we are the ones on the front line, and we are honored to be here...volunteers giving up time with family, shifts at work, personal finances (these are the selfless folks serving)...but without you, those that bring food, donate freezer fulls of meat, that donate clothing....those that become 3/20 Club donors....there would be nowhere to stand.

Thank you, for allowing us that privilege to do so.

Hey - guess what happened?!?! WMAR-2 News Baltimore came and hung out with us this past Wednesday and took the time to share our story!!!! Thank you so much for coming and spending some time with us.
