A lot of us start to notice reduced energy, motivation, and emotional bandwidth around this time of year. And while it is very normal to feel this way in darker winter months, sometimes it can start to feel debilitating. So I wanted to share this previous post of mine with a few protective things we can do to help our brain and body stay more resilient. Even choosing just one or two from this list can make a real difference in your mood, your stress levels, and how you navigate everyday life
And if you’re already feeling low, these will still help. Think of them as ways to support your nervous system so it isn’t constantly running on overdrive. In my next posts, I’ll share small, realistic strategies for the days when your energy is low and everything feels heavier than usual.
For now, consider this a gentle reminder that your emotional health is deeply connected to the way you care for your body, your environment, and your relationships. A few small shifts go a long way
Take care of your mind and body. Love, Nawal ♥️

*ℹ️🌿 THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL OF FLASHBACKS & DISSOCIATIVE EPISODES |
Recently, a very painful and triggering event dropped me into a deep hole of flashbacks and dissociation. Over the next few months, a series of other events threw me into more flashbacks, deep dissociative states, and depression. Like being tossed and rolled endlessly in the raging waves and surf of a stormy, violent sea you can never find a quick escape because you are never sure which way is up or down.
And, even in the moments when you think you have found the way up and out, you are slammed again by another ferocious breaker that leaves you stunned and pushes you back down into the deep, dark abyss.

An important reminder over the holiday season.
We don't talk enough about how lonely this can feel. If you are going through something like this right now just know that it's ok to be sad. I would encourage you to talk to someone about this, and to be extra intentional about doing more things that bring you joy. Just know this will pass, and you will find people you relate to.
Sending you love today.
