💙 Working together to close the gap. 💙

At Region One ECI, collaboration is key to reaching the families who need us most. In October, our team participated in the VIVE Tu VIDA Health Fair hosted by New Horizon at the Gladys Porter Zoo.

Through this community outreach event, we were able to screen children under the age of 3, connect with families, and identify children who benefit from early intervention services. Early identification helps ensure children receive support during the most critical years of development.

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with our community and continue making a difference for children and families across our region.

Fine Motor Development (Birth–3)
Little hands are learning big skills! Fine motor development helps children reach, grasp, transfer, and build hand strength needed for daily activities🖐️💪
📌 Fine Motor Milestones to Watch For:
👶 0–6 months: Brings hands to mouth, grasps toys briefly
👶 6–12 months: Transfers toys hand-to-hand, uses raking grasp
🧒 12–18 months: Uses pincer grasp (thumb & finger), stacks 2 blocks
🧒 18–24 months: Turns pages, scribbles, stacks 4–6 blocks
🧒 2–3 years: Uses utensils, strings beads, builds towers, begins simple scissors skills

Collaboration in action 🤝
Region One ECI was honored to collaborate with Child Protective Services caseworkers and supervisors serving Hidalgo County. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Robles and Ms. Flores for the invitation and the opportunity for the Region One ECI Child Find team to present on the importance of Early Intervention and its vital role in supporting children and families.
