The Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association (RGVDA) is proud to announce its 18th Annual Gala, “Dancing with the Stars of Hidalgo County,” scheduled for October 18, 2025, at the Mission Events Center. This highly anticipated event brings together community leaders, local celebrities, and dedicated supporters to raise funds for diabetes prevention, education, and early detection programs tailored specifically for Valley residents.
This year’s Gala will feature a star-studded lineup of Celebrity Dancers, including Iliana Villalobos, Laura Disque, Zeke Moya, Thelma Tamez, Sandy Torres, Abraham Garcia, Benny Lopez, PA-C, Claudia Lopez, Rebecca Trevino DDS, Dr. Juan Serrato, Praveen Vijhani, Grecia Padilla, Moises Segovia, Dr. Daniel Contreras, Regina Reggie” Richardson and Dr. Monzer Yaji.
Spotlight on Dr. Henry Hererra.
Henry Herrera is a Rio Grande Valley native, raised in McAllen, Texas. He graduated from McAllen High School in 2002 and attended the University of Texas Pan-American (UTRGV), graduating with his Bachelor’s in Pre-med Biology in 2006. He attended UT Southwestern Medical School and graduated in 2010 and completed his Gastroenterology fellowship in 2016. He currently practices at DHR Health and serves as the Department Chair and is a member of the DHR Health Governing Board of Directors. He also serves as Clinical Research Director for DHR Health Institute for Research and Development. Henry devotes time to the community by serving on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of McAllen and the McAllen Education Foundation.
