Sam B. — Strong, Steady, Supported 💚
Every person’s journey is unique to them, and for Sam, finding the right support made all the difference.
Before coming to Friends of Cyrus II, Sam’s family shared concerns about his difficulty managing his anger, following directions, and staying on task. Sam needed a structured environment with compassionate and comprehensive care in order to succeed.
At first, Sam’s transition was not an easy one, but he showed incredible perseverance. The growth that followed has been inspiring to witness.
Today, Sam is managing his emotions with confidence, he has become more active in his community, and fosters healthy relationships with his housemates and staff. Sam has also successfully gained employment and takes pride in his responsibilities.
His Mom shared great appreciation for Sam’s house manager, Tanya, who has shown patience and real care that has helped Sam feel understood and supported.
We’re proud to be part of Sam’s journey and look forward to continuing to support his growth.

Despite facing significant challenges related to her health and communication, one of our incredible residents, Blair has demonstrated remarkable resilience and growth. With the unwavering support of her family, she has learned to better manage her needs and transition into adult services.
At just 18 years old, Blair was diagnosed with May-Thurner Syndrome, a complex vascular condition. At first, Blair had difficulties communicating her needs pertaining to her diagnosis. When Blair and her family joined the FOCII community, we provided personalized support that helped build her independence and strengthen her communication skills. Blair's father shared, "FOCII has truly changed Blair's life, as well as our family's. She has become an incredible advocate for herself."
Today, Blair continues to make remarkable strides and achieve amazing milestones. We are extremely proud to be a part of her journey and feel deeply grateful to Blair and her family for allowing us the opportunity to support her in her successes.

After collecting all of our food items for our FOC Gives Back project, the Millstone Day Program took a trip to The Hope Center to drop everything off.
Everyone got to talk with the folks who work there and ask questions about all the services the center provides.
Friends of Cyrus II is excited to continue this partnership and get more involved with our local communities to continue giving back! 👥
