As temperatures warm and fluctuate, your skin is adjusting right along with them. Mild days followed by cooler, breezy conditions and occasional rain can leave your skin feeling dry, or even trigger breakouts and flare-ups.

This time of year, it’s important to keep your routine balanced—use lightweight hydration, don’t skip SPF (even on cloudy days), and be mindful of how changing weather and pollen can affect your skin.

Seasonal transitions are one of the most common times for skin changes—if you’re noticing new irritation or sensitivity, our team is here to help you stay ahead of it.

Healthy skin starts with adapting to the season. 🌿✨

Pollen isn’t just tough on allergies—it can affect your skin, too. During high pollen days, you may notice increased itching, redness, irritation, or flare-ups of conditions like eczema and sensitive skin.

Pollen can settle on your skin and hair throughout the day, so it’s important to cleanse gently in the evening, keep your skin well-moisturized, and avoid touching your face when outdoors. Changing clothes after being outside can also help reduce exposure.

If your skin is reacting more than usual this season, a dermatologist can help calm irritation and recommend the right treatments to keep your skin comfortable. 🌿✨

Think you have to skip retinol because you have sensitive skin? Not necessarily. The key is how you use it.

With the right approach—starting slowly, using gentle formulations, and pairing it with a good moisturizer—retinol can still be a safe and effective part of your routine. It’s all about building tolerance and protecting your skin barrier along the way.

Sometimes, even the most soothing skincare ingredients can cause an adverse reaction on sensitive skin. What to do, then, about retinol? Yes, it’s touted, and rightfully so, for aiding cell turnover, which spurs a bunch of positive effects for skin. But it also has an extensive track record of irr...

Dry skin can be uncomfortable, but the right habits can make a big difference. Dermatologists recommend switching to a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser, moisturizing immediately after washing, and using thicker creams or ointments to lock in hydration.

Limit long, hot showers, use a humidifier indoors, and choose products that support your skin barrier—not strip it. Consistency is key when it comes to keeping dryness, flaking, and irritation under control.

If your dry skin is persistent or severe, a dermatologist can help identify the cause and recommend targeted treatments for lasting relief. ✨

Weekend Skincare – Dermatologist Approved

Weekends are the perfect time to reset your skin and give it a little extra care. Dermatologist-approved routines don’t have to be complicated—focus on gentle cleansing, deep hydration, and protecting your skin barrier.

Use the weekend to slow down, remove makeup thoroughly, apply a nourishing moisturizer, and don’t skip sunscreen if you’re spending time outdoors. A consistent routine, even on relaxed days, helps your skin recover from the stress of the week and keeps it healthy long term.

Healthy skin isn’t about complicated routines—it’s about simple habits that you stick with. ✨

That burst of pollen you notice after an early spring frost isn’t just tough on allergies—it can affect your skin too 🌼

When temperatures begin to rise after a frost, trees release large amounts of pollen into the air. For people with sensitive skin, eczema, or seasonal allergies, this can trigger irritation, redness, itching, or flare-ups. Pollen can settle on your skin throughout the day, especially on the face, neck, and hands.

During high-pollen days, washing your face after spending time outdoors, keeping skin moisturized, and avoiding harsh products can help reduce irritation. If spring allergies are causing persistent skin reactions or flare-ups, a dermatologist can help you find relief.

As winter fades and spring approaches, it’s the perfect time to refresh your skincare routine 🌷

Changing temperatures, increased humidity, and more time outdoors can all affect your skin. Consider switching to a lighter moisturizer, keeping your sunscreen routine consistent, and gently exfoliating to remove the dryness winter may have left behind. Spring is also a great time to check in with your dermatologist and make sure your skin is healthy and ready for the sunnier months ahead.

A few small adjustments now can help your skin glow all season long. ✨

Snow days are fun—but your skin may not agree ❄️

Cold air, wind, and reflected UV rays from the snow can all take a toll. Freezing temperatures strip away moisture, leaving skin dry, tight, and irritated. Plus, snow reflects up to 80% of the sun’s UV rays, increasing your risk of sunburn—even on cloudy days.

Before heading out, apply a rich moisturizer, don’t skip sunscreen (yes, even in winter!), and protect exposed areas with scarves and gloves. A little extra care can help your skin stay healthy while you enjoy the snow.

Ever wonder what brings most patients to a dermatologist? 👩‍⚕️✨

The most common reasons include acne, suspicious moles or skin cancer screenings, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, warts, and chronic dry or irritated skin. Many patients also visit for anti-aging treatments, sun damage, or cosmetic concerns like brown spots and fine lines.

If something on your skin is new, changing, painful, or simply not going away—it’s worth getting checked. Healthy skin isn’t just about appearance; it’s about protection, prevention, and peace of mind.
