New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) New Jersey Institute for Disabilities offers specialized programs and support for infants, children and adults with disabilities throughout the state.

The history of the New Jersey Institute for Disabilities is one of the great success stories of the state. Originally incorporated in 1949 as the Cerebral Palsy Association of Middlesex County, the Agency found its first location in an abandoned County garage in Perth Amboy. Since that time, the Agency has evolved into one of the most comprehensive and well respected community agencies in New Jersey dedicated to the care and treatment of children and adults with developmental and related disabilities. In 2007, the agency service-marked a new name: New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) which more descriptive of the expansive scope of the agency.

Innovation starts right here at Lakeview! 🌟 Speech Therapists, Jennifer Pucher and Megan McGrath created “The Block,” a new communication tool designed to help students using AAC devices find their voice in new ways.
