Some of the best and brightest APPs in the Pain space published this free access paper establishing official Guidelines for Advanced Practice Providers in Interventional Spine and Pain Management Practice.

If you are an APP considering going into Pain Management or currently working in the field, I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the standard set forth in these guidelines. It is a wonderfully rewarding specialty with so much potential for APPs.

Thank you to for organizing another great Expanding APP Education course. We covered HFX neuromodulation, Adaptive AI and The Nevro1 SIJ fusion device. Events like this allow APPs to learn and stay up to date with data driven technology for our patients. It was a great opportunity to connect with APPs from all over the country and grow our network within the pain management community.

Do you suffer from chronic knee pain despite already having a knee replacement? This is unfortunately far too common. But what your surgeon may not tell you is the pain is real, it's just not structural. Neuropathic pain is a real source of pain that may be accompanied by hypersensitivity, temperature changes, skin changes and swelling. Fortunately, targeted electrical stimulation has shown to be an effective and durable treatment. In many cases, peripheral nerve stimulation is the only option that can restore function for patients who were previously out of options. ⚡ 🦵⚡🦵 ⚡🦵⚡

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition that occurs when the median nerve becomes irritated in the wrist leading to numbness/tingling, weakness and pain. This can affect daily activities such as opening jars, turning doorknobs and using utensils. Once the process of inflammation begins it can be very difficult to control.

Treatment options include:

• Bracing can be very effective, especially overnight.
• Physical therapy can improve strength and ROM, limiting irritation and improving function.
• Injection of corticosteroids can reduce inflammation and restore function
• Surgical decompression is a minor procedure to create additional space for the nerve to function
