Meet Phineas, our Villagio of Bradford Village’s Pawsome Pup of the Month. Phin is an energetic Golden Doodle/Poodle mix who found his home with Denise Jones 8 years ago. Denise has been a Villagio of Bradford Village resident since April 2016, when she and her husband, Don, moved in. Don passed away July 2024.

Phin’s favorite toy is an old yellow sock of Don’s that Denise has turned into a chew toy. Seeing Phin play with Don’s former sock is a cherished, heartwarming sight. Phinn’s favorite trick is to shake “paws” and, if you let him, he’ll shake your paw until it falls off.

Phin’s day isn’t complete unless he has a trip to the dog park. Phin enjoys playing fetch with Denise as she launces the ball for him. You better be on high alert, though, if Phin sees a squirrel, as he’s going full-throttle to catch that squirrel and nothing in his path will stop him.

Phin is always ready to greet his furry friends at the dog park and hasn’t met a dog at Villagio of Bradford Village he doesn’t like. Phin also has lots of two-legged friends who stop to greet him when he’s out and about. He’s even had friends who have stopped their car on the street to greet him when they see him in the dog park. Phin has high standards and demands FreshPet as his treats in the dog park.

Phin is the absolute best company for Denise and he is always attached to her right hip at night. Phin has provided Denise with much-needed companionship this past year. Phin has trained Denise to be at his beck and call and to take him chasing for squirrels every day.

When you see Phin and Denise out and about in our community, be sure to say Hello to both of them and be prepared to shake Phin’s paw.

Join us on Tuesday, November 18th at 10am to hear from TRIAD Coordinator, Sheryl Presley, on how to avoid becoming the victim of a scam. Scammers fleece seniors out of billions of dollars a year and we want to arm seniors with tools to avoid becoming a victim. TRIAD is a program that includes the Sheriff's office, the police department, and seniors who work together to decrease instances of fraud in the community. Please RSVP at 405-531-3444 by 1pm on November 14th as space is limited.

It's almost scary how much fun we had on Halloween! A costume parade, reverse trick-or-treat (staff knocked on doors and handed out candy), and a Carnival complete with games, candy, and a witchy cottage where visitors could get their fortunes told and make a magic potion!

The last stop on our 'Celebrate the Decades' monthly party theme was the 1930s. We went back to the era of Agatha Christie and Dashiell Hammett, and Al Capone, John Dillinger, and Bonnie & Clyde. Residents enjoyed a themed dinner and a reader's theatre presentation of "Don Carrasino and the Murdered Mobster," performed by a cast of residents!
