Swift Physical Therapy

Swift Physical Therapy swiftwellnessok.com Season has been trained in Manual Therapy techniques for over 17 years. Each person is unique and responds differently to treatment.

She performs a comprehensive examination of the musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints and fascia [connective tissue]) to see how the body is working as a whole. Injury, disease and/or surgical intervention affecting one part of the body can directly or indirectly affect another part. She looks at the body as a whole unit and works on compensations we have from past injuries, surgeries, etc. She looks to treat the source of the issue; not patching the issue and waiting for it to arise again. The body is capable of compensating for long periods of times without symptoms. Problems begin when the body can no longer compensate and function efficiently. Season will screen your spine from base of head to sacrum to check for the area of greatest restriction. This will help her identify the key area that needs to be treated first. She uses gentle techniques to help your body re-align, such as muscular contractions and muscle balancing. After she adjusts that area, she’ll screen you again until all areas exhibit increased movement (no more hitch in your get-along). Some soreness may occur as the body adapts to the changes and increases mobility of the tissues. Additionally, this soreness may also be a result of increased circulation resulting in a detoxification process. Regardless of the result of the soreness, the discomfort usually resolves within 48 - 72 hours. Drinking plenty of water helps to decrease the soreness. In our experience, most patients receive a 50 - 70% improvement in at least some of their symptoms within 6 visits. We have found that initially a treatment frequency of once every 2 - 3 weeks is most beneficial, and then as the symptoms decrease, the frequency of visits also decreases. Usually the client notices changes in flexibility and/or symptoms within the first 1 - 2 treatments. Duration of relief will normally increase as the number of tight areas decrease. Remember every client's treatment will be individualized to meet specific needs in response to treatment. Manual Therapy can be used for prevention and wellness. When restrictions are removed from muscles and joints, it allows the body to function at a higher level. Then, more energy is freed up to respond to the environment and be used for work, play, and recreation. This gift of prevention can enhance sports performance, decrease degenerative changes, and optimize health potential. Wellness and prevention is not covered by insurance and is not related to injury or ailments. This care does not require a prescription.

Hallelujah! What an amazing change in one visit!

Changing this baby's entire skeletal system, nervous system and fascial system will change the trajectory of his whole life! And mom's!

After 30 minutes, his body completely relaxed, abdomen softened, tongue and jaw activated (there was minimal motion in his jaw or mouth), nursed without a shield for a full feeding, took a pacifier without assistance and tolerated his car seat. Those are HUGE shifts🙌🏽

Have a baby with feeding difficulties? Colic? Painful gas? Torticollis? Call us!

It happened in the clinic 6 times today, so we must share!

🦃 Holiday stress, 💩digestion issues, 🫁difficulty taking a deep breath, 🩻stiff thoracic spine - all point to diaphragm. So, let's release it ourselves!

Follow along for relief, then follow up with diaphragmatic/belly/box breathing. Scroll down 👇🏼 our feed if you need instruction on that!

Get this important muscle moving - it is a powerhouse!

The rib cage. It does so much for us. When it's not moving properly, it can cause some real havoc.
Our patient reported feeling very tight in her thoracic spine and upon assessment, there was almost zero thoracic movement. Because of this finding, my first thought was to check the rib cage. When the fascia is involved, it can lock down the entire thoracic spine. When palpating her abdomen it was clear that's what she needed! After treatment she had full range of motion through the entire spine!
We didn't have to chase the restriction; her body told us through our palpation screening! What would happen if we only focused on adjusting the vertebral joints or ignoring her superficial and deep front lines?!🫣

✨Now that her rib cage is moving and the fascia is freed up, she'll have better oxygenation, clearer mind, better blood and lymphatic flow, improved digestion and a calming effect because we even addressed the vagus nerve!✨

Sweet baby just needed a little help.
You can see the apex around T12 - cleared that, then tension in both hips, sacrum and pelvis, both arms, ribs and cranial sutures. Ended with gentle work on her palate and floor of mouth. She was a peaceful angel.

Grateful mom's lactation team referred her to help decrease tension to support breastfeeding💜

All babies benefit from manual therapy! ✨
