🥦🍳Did you know that your diet can effect dry eye symptoms? A balanced diet rich in specific nutrients can play a pivotal role in relieving dry eye symptoms and promoting overall eye wellness. We recommend starting with:
Omega-3 fatty acids: Found in fatty fish like salmon, as well as flaxseeds and walnuts, these essential fats can help reduce inflammation and support tear production.
Antioxidant-rich foods: Eat the rainbow! Fruits and vegetables like citrus, berries, carrots, and leafy greens are packed with vitamins C and E and are crucial for maintaining healthy vision.
Zinc & vitamin A: Foods like eggs, dairy products, pumpkin seeds, and sweet potatoes provide zinc and vitamin A, which contribute to healthy tear production and maintain optimal eye function.
By embracing these dietary strategies, you can take proactive steps to nurture your eyes and alleviate the discomfort of dry eye syndrome🌟

Dry eyes can make contact lens wear feel less enjoyable, but there are simple steps to manage comfort. 😊
Lenses designed for dry eyes, such as silicone hydrogel, let more oxygen reach your cornea and can improve how you feel. 👓 Meanwhile, lubricating drops made specifically for contact lens wearers provide extra moisture throughout the day.
Give your eyes a break by removing your lenses when possible and keep your hydration up by drinking water regularly. 💧

Any prolonged, near-work activity—an activity that requires you to look at something close-up, like reading—could cause eye strain. There is some evidence to suggest that prolonged near-work activities, including screen use, may be linked with a higher risk of developing myopia (nearsightedness) for kids, too.
A comprehensive eye exam can help you and your family assess your risk of developing conditions like nearsightedness and provide personal tips for avoiding eye strain.

Is wearing sunglasses on cloudy days necessary?
Don't fall for the common misconception that shades are only for sunny days. Even when it's overcast, UV rays from the sun can pe*****te the cloud cover, posing potential risks to your eyes.
Visit our optical department and stay protected and stylish with a pair of shades, rain or shine!

It is important to remember that there is more to vision and eye care than just receiving new glasses or contact lenses. The eye is a window into the body, allowing the doctor to visualize blood vessels and nerves in the normal state and to detect various diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma, cataracts, cornea disease, and macular degeneration. With a comprehensive eye examination, subtle or even unknown health conditions can be detected and the appropriate treatment initiated, preserving one of God’s greatest blessings in our life – eyesight.
The staff at Stonebridge Eye Care want each patient to feel important and appreciated. Each staff member prepares to take certification examinations as a part of employment here and attends continuing education courses to learn about ways to better care for your eye care needs. Whether it involves asking questions about your previous eye experiences, or discussing options for your next fashion eyewear selection, our staff members want to do everything possible to ensure you see and look the best.
We utilize technologically advanced instrumentation to assist us in an accurate diagnosis of visual problems and treatment of eye disease.
