🔥🍫⛺ Camping Week is off to a sweet (and sticky!) start!

We kicked things off with indoor s’mores and classic campfire songs — and let’s just say the marshmallows were messy, melty, and totally nostalgic! 🪵🎶 There's nothing like the taste of a s’more to bring back summertime memories and spark new ones with friends.

🎉 Did you know today is National Vanilla Pudding Day? We celebrated in the sweetest way possible—with a Pudding & Putting Party! ⛳🍨

Our residents showed off their putting skills on the green and then indulged in delicious vanilla pudding topped with crunchy Oreos—because what’s a celebration without a little extra treat?

Smiles, laughter, and a sprinkle of sweetness made for a perfect afternoon! 💛

🍪 Cooking Club with Patty: Monster Cookie Energy Bites! 💪

Today in our Cooking Club, residents rolled up their sleeves and got creative with Patty! Together, we made Monster Cookie Energy Bites — a fun, no-bake treat packed with oats, peanut butter, a little chocolate, and a lot of heart. ❤️

Not only were they delicious, but they also brought smiles, laughter, and a great sense of accomplishment. Cooking Club is always a hit, and today was no exception!

This week’s essential spotlight employee is Ebbie Nelson.
Ebbie currently works as a CMA for the assisted living community and has been at Tealridge for a year. She is also working towards her nursing degree.
Ebbie stated “the relationships she builds with the residents” is what makes her job worthwhile. “I view the residents as family and never look at them as just patients.”
The thing that has kept her sane during COVID is her beautiful family, son and husband and awaiting the arrival of her baby girl joining them soon.
The advice she would like to give to others is “to stop focusing on what you can’t do and start focusing on what you can and also implement social distancing at all costs.”
The person she looks up to is singer/actress Demi Lovato because she never fails to come back stronger than before.
The one word that describes Ebbie is “ornery.” She is that at times, but she does what she can to help the residents.
Ebbie’s favorite hobby is bingo, watching medical drama on television and playing with her son.

This weeks essential worker is Jennifer Lovelady.
Jennifer currently works Monday-Friday as our nursing supervisor and infection preventionist here at Tealridge.
Jennifer has currently worked for Tealridge for almost 3 years and has been a nurse for 3 years and continues to pursue her career to become an RN.
Jennifer states “Developing relationships with the residents, educating families and improving the environment for staff and residents so everyone can have more good days than bad” is why she does what she does.
Jennifer states “serving God and his children in the work he has called her to do has kept her sane through the COVID pandemic. The advice that she would like to share with others is “make sure to take time for your own mental and physical health through COVID 19.”
Jennifer identifies her children as her heroes. She states “even through the challenging times they are the ones who find things to enjoy and find wonder and joy daily.”
The word that identifies Jennifer is “Organizer.” She is a nerd for writing policies and procedures and loves organizing things. She says “everything has a place” and she loves when her environment is neat and tidy.
Jennifer’s current hobbies are doing nails and reading. She has even learned how to master the art of applying nails during COVID. She states “ doing my nails is relaxing and I loved to read quit a bit.”

This week’s essential worker spotlight employee is Chelsea Caraway.
Chelsea is our Executive Chef and has been at Tealridge for almost a year. She has been working in the Food industry for 8 years. She verbalized that what makes her feel her work is worth while is “because she loves serving the residents and making their day better one meal at a time.” She said the things that make her sane during the COVID Pandemic are “wine, the residents and my amazing staff.”
She would like to encourage everyone by saying “take one day at a time and never lose focus on why you do what you do and who you do it for.”
Chelsea can be seen around the building smiling and laughing with the residents. She truly cares about the residents and what is best for them. She works hard and is determined to help the residents stay healthy and safe.
Chelsea says her hero’s are “GOD and my father, because my dad has taught me so much and is my biggest supporter, God has given me a wonderful life and career.
The words that come to mind when describing Chelsea are “Determined and Caring” and her favorite hobby is racing cars!

This week essential spotlight worker is Sandy Sitter.
Sandy has worked for Tealridge for 2 ½ years as the Assistant Director of Nursing and has been working in the nursing field since 1991.
Sandy works weekends for Tealridge and occasionally helps out during the week when needed. She puts her heart and soul into her work and loves being with the residents 1 on 1. Sandy has verbalized that working at Tealridge has been rewarding for her and she values the relationships she has developed with the residents the most.
Sandy has always had a sense of humor that will make even the saddest person laugh on a rough day. When asked what keeps her sane during COVID she states “who says I am sane.” She states “it has been great to see all of the staff at Tealridge come together and support each other during Covid 19; each are doing their part, and it helps residents know they are safe and cared for.”
The one word that describes Sandy is “compassionate” due to her loving nature and the way she is there for everyone in her life.
On her time off she loves to walk her dog, Millie, reading books and spending time with her family and friends.
