UPDATE: The link has been updated to the correct form.

The new rules have been approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, and the application instructions for independent prescriptive authority are now available:
đź”—https://oklahoma.gov/content/dam/ok/en/nursing/documents/pa4b.pdf

The rules require 3 credit hours (or 45 clock hours) of Category A or B pharmacotherapeutics continuing education within the past three years for initial prescriptive authority applications. This has always been a rule for initial application for prescriptive authority.

However, the Board has wrongly interpreted (without consultation with AONP) the new law to mean that any new application – including for independent prescriptive authority – is considered an “initial application.”

➡️ AONP disagrees with this interpretation and is working with legal counsel to review and address the issue.
