Happy Valentine's Weekend from this precious girl (notice her adorable heart hands 🫶🏼 😍)

This sweet couple first reached out when they learned their baby was in the frank breech position. Together, we explored Spinning Babies techniques and the breech protocol, and they committed wholeheartedly💪🏼—showing up for the daily activities with so much intention. Their dedication paid off, and their little one turned head‑down.🎉

From that moment on, though, this 🎀spirited girl🎀 made it clear she had her own party going on🥳. Week after week, she treated everyone to full somersaults, reminding us that babies often have plans of their own.

Fast forward to this Tuesday—a whirlwind of a day. An induction began, and their daughter continued to wiggle, squirm, and keep everyone guessing. She communicated her preferences *clearly*, especially when it came to monitoring and positioning. It became evident, through her heart rate patterns, that she was telling us what she did not tolerate well. With wisdom, love, and deep selflessness, her parents made the decision to welcome her safely through a surgical birth. ❣️Holding plans and preferences with an open hand can be one of the quiet lessons of birth.

After all the commotion and emotion of the day, this amazing and precious 🌈rainbow baby🌈 finally arrived, placed gently into the arms of her adoring parents—safe, loved, and exactly where she belonged.

Wednesday night was W.I.L.D. — in the most beautiful, unexpected way.

Mama had been updating me throughout the day, and by evening her waves were about five minutes apart. I gathered my things and was heading that way. Her surges were getting stronger but still manageable, and she planned to shower before heading to the hospital.

While I was grabbing coffee — anticipating a potentially long night ahead — Daddy texted that her water had broken in the shower 🫠. I called right away, suggested we meet at the hospital, and checked back a couple minutes later. That’s when I heard: “She says she can feel the head.” 😱
Oh… okay then. I’m coming to YOU. 🚓🚨
Cop‑mode driving + talking to 911, making sure capable providers were on their way.

When I ran into their home, a stunned Daddy met me with, “She was just born!” I stepped into the bathroom and saw the most breathtaking scene — Mama cradling her brand‑new baby GIRL, pink, perfect, full head of dark hair, and a strong little cry, letting me know that she was transitioning so well 😍. 💖

Mama's excellent physical and mental preparation played a huge role in what unfolded as a precipitous, empowered labor. Mama got every birth preference she hoped for… and then some 😅😉. Daddy cut the cord like a champ. Baby latched immediately and nursed the entire way to the hospital, where we made sure everyone was doing well.

Deep gratitude to the medics for their quick assessment and to Lakeside Women’s Hospital for welcoming us with such understanding, even though this was *definitely* not the original plan.

P Family — thank you for inviting me into this sacred moment. You stayed calm, grounded, and confident in your body’s abilities every step of the way. And Daddy… you caught your baby girl with absolute courage and love.

I am so, so proud of you all.

Last week, plans changed quickly for my sweet first‑time parents. What began as a routine OB appointment shifted into observation… and then into hospital admittance for an induction due to high blood pressure from preeclampsia.🙂‍↕️ Definitely not what they had envisioned.

After a good night of rest, I arrived Thursday morning and we got to work with positional changes, relaxation techniques, and lots of encouragement. They made steady progress, but baby was sending us clear signs that he or she (surprise baby 🎉😍🫠) just wasn’t feeling completely content inside.

That led to another big shift in the birth plan. A surgical birth became the surest and safest path for this precious little one and his incredibly strong mama. And even with every unexpected turn, this couple moved through their birth with so much grace, courage, and unity.

There were countless prayers whispered throughout the process and a deep, steady peace that covered the room as we walked the path God had already written for this baby, mama, and daddy. ❤️

2025 has been such an incredibly BLESSED year!! Here is a more detailed breakdown of the births I attended:
✨5 medically necessary inductions (preeclampsia, cholestasis, IUGR..to name a few 🫤)
🌿3 elective epidurals
💫5 unmedicated births
❣️1 homebirth (where I caught a very special baby girl!!🥹🫠🥰)

🪻ALL 8 were vaginal deliveries!
