Meet the incredible Dr. Sherry Young from our Community Relations Team!

With decades of experience in the behavioral health field, Sherry brings a rare blend of clinical insight, advocacy, and heart to everything she does. As a PhD and CSAT, she has spent her career supporting therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists in finding the right treatment paths for their clients – offering guidance, connection, and trusted resources every step of the way.

Sherry shared: "I'm proud to work with APN and want everyone to know."

Since 1997, she has also helped counseling practices grow and thrive, combining her deep industry knowledge with a passion for ethical, high-quality care. Today, she continues that work as an independent consultant, collaborating with vetted organizations to ensure individuals and families receive the support they deserve.

Before this work, she taught psychology and literature at the college level and led study programs in Rome; she brings a thoughtful, global perspective to everything she does.

Based in Taos, NM, Sherry is also a proud mother and grandmother who loves skiing, hiking with her dog Sanders, and traveling the world.

Her guiding belief: “Live the questions. Perhaps in some distant day you will live your way into the answers.” – Rainer Maria Rilke

Meet Jessica Pirie, Clinical Manager at our APN Boulder location.

Jessica has spent the past 12 years working in community mental health. She began in residential treatment with children and adolescents before moving into outpatient therapy and clinical assessment, and later serving as a program manager for outpatient therapists.

She holds a Master’s in Education with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a Solution-Focused Therapist, Jessica believes clients already have the strengths they need to feel better – they just need support along the way.

Born and raised in Boulder, Jessica is passionate about serving her community. When she’s not working, you can find her outside, spending time with her partner and two children, watching The Office, or cross-stitching.

All Points North and A Mission for Michaelmissionformichael hosted a wonderful evening of creativity, connection, and community. A special thank you to Emily Drewniany for representing APN and bringing this event to life.

We gathered at Upstairs Circus for a hands-on craft night, where guests selected projects from the menu and had the chance to unwind together. The combination of creative expression, meaningful conversation, and a relaxed atmosphere made it an ideal space to connect.

We’re grateful to have shared the evening with such an incredible group of partners:
• Victoria Olson with Resolve
• Peter Boland with Taproot
• Roy Jamshidi with University of Colorado Boulder
• Jessica Bloomfield and team with Bloomfield Psychology
• Anabelle Brecker and Dr. Emily Biggs-Heisler with Mountainside Behavioral Health

We look forward to many more opportunities to gather, collaborate, and continue building a strong, supportive community.

Say hello to Kate Wood from APN Boulder.

As a Care Coordinator and dTMS Technician, Kate supports clients across multiple levels of care, working closely with our clinical team to ensure continuity, connection, and a thoughtful treatment experience. Her work spans care coordination, treatment support, and contributing to alumni programming – all grounded in a deep commitment to whole-person wellness.

Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Media Persuasion from Indiana University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regis University. Her background also includes work in residential treatment and functional nutrition, with a focus on the relationship between mental health, the nervous system, and overall well-being.

She recently completed a three-year professional training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and continues to deepen her work through the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). Kate is continually inspired by the depth of healing that becomes possible when we include the body, relationships, and the whole person in the process.

If you’re in Boulder, come by and say hello to Kate!

Meet Lauren Cisneros Campbell.

Lauren is an Intensive Outpatient/Outpatient Therapist at APN Denver, bringing a deep passion for trauma-informed, client-centered care to every session.

Since beginning her counseling career in 2013, Lauren has worked across a wide range of mental health settings – including psychiatric clinical therapy, individual, group, and family therapy, substance use counseling, and school counseling. Her experience supporting adults, adolescents, children, and families gives her a unique, well-rounded perspective on healing at every stage of life.

Lauren’s approach is grounded in empathy, structure, and empowerment. She helps clients explore the impact of trauma, strengthen communication, and build the emotional and behavioral tools needed to move forward with clarity and confidence.

With a strong background in trauma resolution, de-escalation, and crisis intervention, Lauren creates a safe, supportive space where clients can process their experiences and build lasting resilience.

We’re grateful to have Lauren as part of the APN Denver team!

At APN, care is intentional from the very beginning.

From the moment a guest arrives, every detail of the experience is designed to create safety, clarity, and trust while honoring each individual’s autonomy. We believe the time we spend with clients matters, and that thoughtful attention to environment, relationships, and daily structure can make a meaningful difference in the healing process.

For Marcus Smith II, APN Global Ambassador and former NFL player, that experience is deeply personal. After completing treatment at APN in 2021 while navigating depression and the mental health challenges that followed his NFL career, he now works to support others facing similar struggles.

For Major White, an APN alumnus and Senior Director of Client Engagement Operations, that same commitment to service and attention to detail helps ensure every client feels seen, supported, and respected throughout their treatment journey.

Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. At APN, we work to ensure the client experience reflects the same level of intention and excellence as our clinical care, building treatment that supports meaningful progress and sustainable recovery.

APN had an incredible evening with the American Warrior Association at Mesero in Southlake, Texas.

We gathered with clinicians and R3 partners for an evening of meaningful connection, collaboration, and community – all in support of the work we do every day.

As an organization dedicated to supporting Active Duty Military, Veterans, and First Responders, it was especially meaningful to spend time alongside partners who share our commitment to those who serve.

Grateful for the energy, the conversations, and a truly memorable night together.
