Founded by Edna and David Tevet, DFK began with a simple idea rooted in compassion, and that same spirit continues to guide us today. Our partnership with Ollie's American Restaurant remains a vital part of this mission, helping meals reach more children and families across our region every week.

Meals only make a difference if they make it to a child’s doorstep, and that’s where our volunteer drivers come in! Three days a week, caring neighbors help bridge the gap between the kitchen and home. They bring consistency, dignity, and relief to families who depend on DFK. Even a single shift each month can keep a child fed.

In 2011, Dinners for Kids began with a simple but powerful commitment: delivering just six meals per week, year-round, directly to children’s homes. What started as a small, heartfelt effort by founders Edna and David Tevet has grown into a program that now serves more than 240 at-risk children across Wilkes-Barre, the West Side, and the Dallas area providing over 75,000 meals each year.
