You hear our teachers say, “if you feel your back arch off the mat, then don’t take your legs so low!” But what does that mean? In this visual representation, you can see the back lifting, the stomach coning, and the core not doing as much work. The back should stay stable and the core engaged while the legs move! Breath should come from a lateral (out to the sides of the ribs/body) while the core is engaged to control the pressure in the core.

🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness & The Power of Movement 🎀

This past week, our instructor Brittany invited her colleague Laura from SSM to lead a special Lunch & Learn for our team, focusing on how Pilates and Physical Therapy can support those affected by breast cancer along with the importance of early detection through regular mammograms.

We’re excited to share that Brittany and Laura will be in the studio on Saturday, October 25th, to answer questions, offer guidance, and talk more about how movement can support healing and recovery.

Let’s keep raising awareness, encouraging prevention, and moving with purpose. 💗

Rounded shoulders… try as we might, our daily lives push us into rounded compressed shoulders and back which feeds into, tight hip flexors, weak glutes, weak abdominals and more.

*We don’t spot treat in Pilates - we work the whole body while uniformly developing the muscles.
*When we move with intention, we open the chest, strengthen the upper back, align the spine, and restore the natural lift of the posture.
