Kids struggle with pelvic health issues more often than people realize — and they deserve care that’s gentle, respectful, and actually works 💛

At Effingham Pelvic Health & Wellness, we treat kids, too.

We help with:
• Bedwetting (day or night)
• Constipation
• Stool smearing
• Bowel or bladder leakage

These challenges can be frustrating, embarrassing, and stressful for both kids and parents — but they’re common, and they’re treatable. Pediatric pelvic floor therapy uses age-appropriate education, movement, breathing, and body awareness to help kids gain better control and confidence.

If your child is struggling, you’re not alone — and they’re not doing it on purpose. Support is here.

Thanks Jacque Ordner - Milk Guide Lactation for the shout out 🎉👏

Hi friends, I’m Jacque! As a mom of four and an RN, IBCLC, I’ve been through the "pregnancy fog" more than a few times. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from both my personal journey (hello, four C-sections!) and my years in clinical practice, it’s that preparation is the secret to peace of mind.

I want you to feel empowered, not overwhelmed. Here is how I recommend mapping out your milestones so you can reach your goals with confidence!

✨ The Second Trimester: Building Your Foundation

20 Weeks: The Anatomy Scan. This is such a special milestone—enjoy that peek at your little one!

24–28 Weeks: Glucose Screening. Grab a snack for afterward and use the waiting room time to start your pediatrician search. Not interested in the sugary drink....just know there are alternatives!

The Research Phase: Now is the time to start looking at daycare waitlists and building your "village."

🎓 The Third Trimester: The Prep Work

28–34 Weeks: Take your Birth Prep Class. > Why now? You want the information fresh in your mind, but you also might want to be done before the "third trimester tired" really kicks in. Whether you’re planning a vaginal birth or a gentle C-section, knowledge is power!

35–37 Weeks: Meet with a Lactation Consultant. > Jacque’s Pro-Tip: Don’t wait until the baby is here to talk about feeding! A prenatal lactation consult is a game-changer. We can talk about your health history, colostrum harvesting, and—my personal favorite—getting your pump and fl**ge fit sorted before you need them.

36 Weeks: Pack that hospital bag! (Add an extra-long charging cable and your favorite nursing bra to the top of the list).

💡 A Note from My Heart to Yours:

Parenthood is a wild ride, and things don't always go exactly as planned (trust me, I’ve been there!). The goal isn't perfection; it's about having the right tools and support in place so you can pivot with grace.

🚨 Kegels are NOT for everyone 🚨

Doing Kegels when your pelvic floor is already tight or irritated can actually make symptoms worse.

Hold off on Kegels and get evaluated first if you have:
• Endometriosis
• Interstitial cystitis (painful bladder)
• Urinary urgency/frequency
• Pelvic pain
• Stress incontinence that isn’t improving (or feels worse)

Struggling doesn’t always mean your muscles are “weak.” Sometimes they’re overworked and need to learn how to relax, not tighten.

A proper pelvic floor assessment can save you months (or years) of frustration. 💛
Not sure if Kegels are right for you? Come see us first.

Men Have Pelvic Floors Too — And We Treat Them Here.

At Effingham Pelvic Health & Wellness, pelvic therapy isn’t just for women. We proudly treat men, and many are surprised to learn how much pelvic floor therapy can improve their daily comfort, function, and quality of life.

Men come to us for help with:

• Pelvic or groin pain
• Bladder leakage, urgency, or frequent trips to the bathroom
• Constipation or bowel difficulties
• Pain with sitting or exercise
• Core weakness or abdominal pressure issues
• Recovery after prostate surgery
• Sexual health concerns related to pelvic muscle function

These issues are common, but they’re not something you just have to “live with.” Specialized pelvic physical therapy can help reduce pain, restore muscle function, and get you back to doing the things you enjoy.

If you’ve been dealing with symptoms in silence, you’re not alone — and there is help available.

This week, I had the privilege of sharing my journey to business ownership at the Chamber of Commerce Women in Business event, and I’m incredibly grateful. 🤍

From marrying my high school sweetheart from Ttown and becoming a Christian wife and mom of four, to walking the halls of St. Anthony High School and Maryville University, leadership and service have always been part of who I am—Student Council President, Class President, PT Club President… even when I didn’t see it then, God was preparing me.

In graduate school, I found my calling in pelvic health and obstetric physical therapy. I helped develop and grow a pelvic program at a local hospital and dreamed of creating an inpatient obstetric program and becoming a lead PT. But in 2021, after much prayer and consideration, I made the leap to open my own clinic—right here in my hometown.

Why?
✨ To provide better care
✨ To serve women (and men and children) without restrictions
✨ To build something rooted in faith, excellence, and purpose

Today, I’m honored to say our clinic is the only one within 86 miles of Effingham specializing solely in pelvic and obstetric rehabilitation.

This journey hasn’t been mine alone. It’s been fueled by faith, scholarships, Financial Peace University, my incredible husband, unwavering family support, women who believed in me before I fully believed in myself, and a whole lot of hard work, passion, and dedication.

Above all, it’s been guided by knowing my why.

To every woman dreaming, leading, building, or taking the leap—your story matters. I’d love to connect with you. Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce and the amazing women in that room for the opportunity to share my story. 💪✨
