Illinois has extended the open enrollment deadline for residents purchasing health insurance through the state marketplace, Get Covered Illinois. Coverage starting January 1, 2026, is now available for those who enroll by December 31. Residents who miss that date still have until January 15 to enroll for coverage beginning February 1. State officials say the extension is meant to give people more time to review their options and get help choosing a plan amid upcoming policy changes. Free enrollment assistance remains available through Get Covered Illinois. Keep in mind when choosing a new health plan that we are preferred providers with Blue Cross and Blue Shield and United Healthcare.

The EPC/MDVIP Team would like to congratulate Dr. Navi Arora 👏 on recently being elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians! Here is the Press Release below 👇

DR. NAVI ARORA ELECTED ACP FELLOW
 
EFFINGHAM, IL, Nov. 18, 2025 - Navi Arora, MD, FACP, a board-certified internist practicing in Effingham, has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the society of internists. This prestigious distinction recognizes his achievements in internal medicine, the specialty of adult medical care.
 
Dr. Arora was elected upon the recommendation of peers and the review of ACP’s Credentials Subcommittee. He may now use the letters “FACP” after his name in recognition of this honor.
 
Dr. Arora is the Medical Director at Effingham Prompt Care and MDVIP - Navi Arora, MD. He is affiliated with HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital where he has served in various medical staff leadership roles. He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Arora is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. Locally, Dr. Arora serves on the Board of Directors for the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and has been involved in several other charities and organizations.
 
A graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Arora earned a medical degree from Medical University of the Americas and completed his internal medicine residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.
 
Dr. Arora resides on Lake Sara. He and his wife, Jackie, have two children, Lucy and Gigi.

Effingham Prompt Care is where primary care meets urgent care. We are comprised of three local physicians and an excellent support team who provide same-day healthcare for a fraction of the cost and time of an emergency room.
