This week, we're focusing on gratitude—and how it supports nervous system regulation. But let's be real: When your child is dysregulated, "just be grateful" doesn't work. You can't gratitude your way out of a nervous system stuck in survival mode. That's why we focus on nervous system care first. When subluxation is corrected and the body feels safe, gratitude becomes possible. Regulation creates the capacity for connection, joy, and presence. So yes, practice gratitude. But also: support your child's nervous system so they can actually experience it. We got you. P.S. - Want help preparing your child's nervous system for the holiday season? Traditions That Regulate class is Dec 2 at 7pm. Link in bio.

Coordination struggles in kids aren't just "clumsiness." When your child trips over nothing, struggles with handwriting, can't catch a ball, or has trouble with balance—it's often a sign of nervous system disconnection. The nervous system controls coordination, balance, and proprioception (knowing where your body is in space). When subluxation creates interference, the brain and body aren't communicating properly. We've seen kids go from "clumsy" to confident. From struggling with sports to excelling. From avoiding physical activities to embracing them. Because when the nervous system is connected, the body can move with coordination and control. If your child struggles with coordination, let's check their foundation.

When your child gets sick constantly, it's easy to think "weak immune system." But here's what's actually happening: When the nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight, the immune system can't do its job. Your child's body is too busy surviving to defend against viruses and bacteria. Chiropractic care helps shift the nervous system out of stress mode and into rest-and-repair mode. When that happens, the immune system can finally function the way it's supposed to. We see it all the time: kids who were sick every month suddenly going months without illness. Fewer ear infections. Fewer antibiotics. Stronger, more resilient bodies. If your child is always sick, let's look at their nervous system.

Here's a tradition that regulates: Morning snuggles. Before the rush, before the chaos, before the demands of the day—just 5 minutes of connection. Skin-to-skin contact. Deep breathing. Slow rhythm. This isn't just sweet—it's science. Physical connection calms the nervous system, regulates cortisol (stress hormone), and primes your child's body for a regulated day. Want more traditions like this? Join us December 2nd for Traditions That Regulate. We're teaching you simple, nervous system-friendly micro-routines that make a massive difference. Free Zoom class. 7pm. Link in bio to register.

Developmental milestones matter. When your baby isn't rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking on schedule—it's not always "they'll catch up." Sometimes it's a sign that the nervous system needs support. The nervous system controls movement, coordination, and development. When subluxation creates interference, development can stall. We see babies who weren't rolling start moving within weeks of care. Babies who were "late walkers" suddenly cruising. Toddlers with delayed speech starting to communicate. Because when the nervous system is functioning optimally, the body can do what it's designed to do: grow, develop, and thrive. If your little one is behind on milestones, let's check their nervous system first. Text or call to schedule: 618-389-6870 (Text Only) or 217-347-5010 (Call)

Let's talk about mealtime battles. When your child refuses to eat, melts down over food textures, or can only tolerate 5 safe foods—it's not pickiness. It's sensory processing. And sensory processing? It starts in the nervous system. When subluxation creates interference, sensory information gets scrambled. Foods that should feel normal feel threatening. Your child isn't being difficult—their nervous system is overwhelmed. We've seen kids go from 5 safe foods to trying new things. From gagging at textures to eating family meals. Not because we forced it—because we supported their nervous system so their body could process sensory input properly. If mealtime is a battle at your house, let's look at the foundation. P.S. - Registered for Traditions That Regulate yet? We're talking all about routines (including mealtime) that support regulation. Dec 2, 7pm. Link in bio.

That looks like: → Calmer responses to frustration → Better emotional regulation → Improved sleep → Reduced anxiety Here's a simple tradition to try this month: At dinner, everyone shares one thing they're grateful for. Keep it short. Keep it simple. No pressure. Just connection. When the nervous system feels safe and connected, everything else gets easier. What's one thing you're grateful for today? Here's the truth about retained primitive reflexes: They're a sign that your child's nervous system didn't get the memo to move on. Primitive reflexes are automatic movements babies are born with—they help with survival, birth, and early development. But they're supposed to integrate (turn off) as the nervous system matures. When they don't? Your child's body is still operating on survival mode. That shows up as: → Poor coordination and balance → Difficulty with reading and writing → Sensory sensitivities → Emotional dysregulation → Focus and attention challenges Chiropractic care supports nervous system development so those reflexes can integrate the way they're supposed to. We help kids move from survival to thriving. If this sounds like your child, send us a message. We got you.

Sleep struggles in kids aren't just about bedtime routines. When the nervous system is stuck in fight-or-flight, the body doesn't feel safe enough to rest. That looks like: → Taking forever to fall asleep → Waking up multiple times at night → Restless, tossing and turning → Waking up tired even after a full night → Nightmares or night terrors These aren't sleep problems. This is a nervous system that can't downshift into rest mode. Chiropractic care helps calm the nervous system so your child's body knows it's safe to sleep. When subluxation is corrected, sleep becomes restorative instead of restless. Better sleep = better mood, better focus, better behavior, better immunity. If your child struggles with sleep, let's talk.
