‼️Omnipod 5 recall

In case anyone didn’t get the email regarding the Omnipod 5 recall we wanted to share the link to be able to look up your pod lots.

“Insulet identified that certain Pods from specific lots may have a small tear in the internal tubing that delivers insulin. If this happens, insulin may leak inside the Pod instead of being fully infused in the body as intended.”

The link to check is here :

And if you have any more questions or need help, you can call Insulet Product Support phone line at 1‑800‑641‑2049, available 24/7

🌻 Kansas T1D warriors, this is to you 💙

Managing diabetes in a rural area can look different. Things like fewer specialists, longer drives, tighter pharmacy options can make an impact. But support and community still matter.

If you’re in the Kansas area comment “🌻” so others can connect with you

Blood sugar as high as the sky on a plane✈️ 😅

Eating food on an airplane is quite the challenge! You don’t know carb counts, you don’t get to build your own meal, you’ve been sitting, plus the change in altitude affects some people. In times like this, you need to give yourself a lot of grace.

Does anyone have a tried and true tip for navigating airplane food?

Fun Fact Friday : Type 1 Diabetes wasn’t distinguished from Type 2 Diabetes until the 1930s.

Before that, all diabetes was treated as one disease. Treatment included extreme dietary restrictions, essentially starvation diets.

This humbling realization makes me more grateful for all of the advancements we’ve had over the years.

Traveling with T1D feels a little different.

They say to bring double the amount you’ll actually need. This is what Allison packed for an almost 2 week trip out of the country:
-PLENTY of low snacks (including glucagon)
-2 blood glucose meters
-a sharps container, insulin vial, insulin pens, diet detector strips
-alcohol wipes, 3 Dexcom G7s, 8 site changes, a travel loaner pump from Tandem

Do you pack just enough supplies to last or do you bring backups?

We know life with T1D is busy.

💙appointments
💙pharmacy runs
💙overnight checks
💙alarms
💙school/work
💙highs & lows
💙mental math

And the list goes on. That being said, we want to give everyone the opportunity to attend a T1D Talks meetup. How can we make that easier for you?

- different day of the week than a Monday?
- different time of day?
- keep offering virtual meetings?
- occasional meetups instead of monthly?

Daylight Savings Time has started again! This means we lost an hour of sleep last night😅 This can actually affect those of us with diabetes! When we lose sleep, our blood sugars don't do as well. Wishing everyone good blood sugar numbers today!

Was anyone awake overnight with alerts? You may have lost more than just the one hour of sleep from the time change!

Today is Be Heard Day, and this space was created for exactly that reason.

Because the world often only sees a diagnosis…
But behind that diagnosis is a real life story.

A child learning courage far too young.
A parent doing overnight blood sugar checks.
A teen trying to feel “normal.”
An adult who never gets a break from the math.

Type 1 Diabetes is invisible to most people.
But here, your story matters.

If you’re comfortable sharing:

💬 What is one part of living with T1D that people rarely see?
Your voice might help someone else feel less alone today. 💙
