This International Women’s Day, Behavioral Crossroads proudly recognizes our dedicated women leaders who make a lasting impact in behavioral health every day.
Lori McCline, LCADC, LAC, CCS, Regional Clinical Director has been part of Behavioral Crossroads Recovery for the past 14 years, a journey that began when she first joined the organization as a student intern. Her experience of growing within the agency has given her a deep appreciation for the mission of Behavioral Crossroads Recovery and the impact of the agency's work has on individuals and families affected by mental health and addiction. Lori values having a strong, committed group of professionals who share this mission; her team is proud to offer women-centered groups that focus on empowerment, personal growth, and building resilience, ensuring that women feel supported, understood, and equipped with the tools they need to move forward with confidence in their recovery.
As a leader and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Tara Collins-Johnston, LCSW, Program Director, Behavioral Crossroads Partial Care, has learned to lead with both her head and heart. There are two words that come to her mind when she thinks about what it takes to be a woman leader in the behavioral health industry: Strength and Compassion. Strength helps her navigate through difficult decisions and support others, while compassion allows her to understand and empathize with those she serves.
She believes that her program is a place where women can feel safe and understood while working to address their mental health challenges. Her clinical team is committed to breaking the stigma around mental health and meeting women where they are. They are determined to amplify the voices of those who are often left unheard. The team is focused on creating an environment where women can feel supported in their journey by providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
Laurel A. Vnucak, MS, Human Resources Director at Behavioral Crossroads has experienced firsthand how powerful it is to be part of a profession rooted in empathy, resilience, and advocacy. As a woman working in the behavioral healthcare industry, she has been placed at the “Crossroads” of business, science and humanity—supporting staff who in turn support clients through some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. She is especially proud to be part of a team that actively supports and values women in the workplace. She is grateful to work alongside colleagues who uplift one another and share a commitment to advancing behavioral health with compassion, equity, and purpose.
Our finance department manager, Mindel Gordon, also values being part of an industry and organization that makes a measurable impact. Her role allows her to support the clinical mission through strong financial oversight, organization, and accountability. She has experienced steady support from leadership, meaningful opportunities to take initiative, and a collaborative culture grounded in professionalism and mutual respect and feels proud to be part of the team.
Thank you - Lori, Tara, Laurel, and Mindel - for supporting healing and recovery and leading the way in behavioral healthcare.
