MidAtlantic MedEvac

MidAtlantic MedEvac began in 1987 as a traditional hospital based program of Hahnemann Hospital, providing emergency care for scene transports as well as inter-hospital transports. The geographical coverage area for MidAtlantic MedEvac includes eastern Pennsylvania, southeastern New York, New Jersey, Delaware and northeastern Maryland. These regions are served by two bases: MedEvac 4 located at the Woodbine Municipal Airport, Woodbine, NJ MedEvac 5 located at the Millville Municipal Airport, Millville, NJ Effective January 1, 2015, MidAtlantic MedEvac was acquired by Med-Trans Corporation. Med-Trans Corporation, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is a leading national air medical provider focused on establishing partnerships with hospital systems, medical centers and EMS agencies through more than 60 bases across 21 states. MidAtlantic MedEvac received three new, state-of-the-art Single Pilot IFR equipped Airbus EC-135P2+ aircraft to be used at each program location. The new fleet of helicopters offers the latest in aircraft technology, safety equipment and features, such as night vision goggles, radar altimeter, GPS navigation, satellite tracking and communications and helicopter terrain alert warning systems (HTAWS). These aircraft are best aligned with the organization’s needs and mission and the overall care and safety of the patient as well as the flight team.
