The Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD) Proposition U and Measure BB construction bond program is hosting a Contractor Outreach Event this coming Thursday, November 2, at West Hills High School. The information is as follows, and is also linked on their website at

GUHSD is inviting all interested trade contractors, including small, local, and historically underutilized businesses, to learn about, prepare for, and bid on upcoming district construction projects and contract opportunities!
WHAT: Contractor Business Outreach Event!
Meet our Project Managers, Construction Managers, and others to learn about upcoming contracting opportunities. Get registered and prequalified! Get the latest information on labor compliance and prevailing wage requirements!
WHY: As our construction program ramps up, we are interested in working with local licensed contractors who want to be part of transforming our East County schools!
WHERE: West Hills High School auditorium 8756 Mast Blvd., Santee 92071
WHEN: Thursday, Nov. 2, 8:30 – 10 a.m.
WHO: All interested trade contractors, including those who are local to the GUHSD East County boundary, San Diego County, and who are certified as a disadvantaged, small, minority, woman, or disabled-veteran owned business enterprise.

GET PREQUALIFIED/GET WORKING!
STEP 1: Go to www.qualitybidders.com.
STEP 2: Click on the “Contractor” tab to begin registration. The service is free to contractors and allows you to send your information to multiple school districts.
STEP 3: Upon completion, you will receive a confirmation message with instructions.
STEP 4: Using the instructions provided, log in and completion the prequalification form.

California law requires all contractors who work or bid on public works projects to register with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), and to adhere to prevailing wage laws and apprenticeship requirements.
