Client comes in with knee pain. Upon palpation of hamstrings I notice an unusually hard bony prominence on his femur. I tell the client to get that checked out with his primary care doctor. Upon palpation, she tells him she does not feel a thing and that his massage therapist should know her anatomy! Upon x-ray, they find a bony prominence out-growth from his femur. 🦴 she’s surprised, I’m not! Come on Docs, give us professional massage therapists the benefit of the doubt, and please, trust our palpitation skills! This is our area of expertise!

This summer has been a creative labor of love! I am now a woman with power tools, feeling quite capable and although there are a few more details to make it complete here is the new studio transformation!

"When a cat falls out of a tree, it lets go of itself. The cat becomes completely relaxed, and lands lightly on the ground. But if a cat were about to fall out of a tree and suddenly make up its mind that it didn’t want to fall, it would become tense and rigid, and would be just a bag of broken bones upon landing.
In the same way, it is the philosophy of the Tao that we are all falling off a tree, at every moment of our lives. As a matter of fact, the moment we were born, we were kicked off a precipice, and we are falling, and there is nothing that can stop it.
So instead of living in a state of chronic tension, and clinging to all sorts of things that are actually falling with us because the whole world is impermanent, be like a cat."

Rather than being focused on the deficit of what’s going out, we can choose to focus on the abundance of what’s being received and align ourselves with gratitude.
Simple shifts in focus can redirect our trajectory of well being and reduce symptoms of chronic pain.
Our emotions, have a direct impact on our brains perception of safety. If the brain senses threat, whether it’s an actual physical threat or an emotion signaling threat, the brain may send physical pain to warn and protect you.
If we can begin catching ourselves in mind-states of fear, insecurity, lack, anxiety, etc., and choose instead to shift our attention towards safety, we are actively rewiring our brain towards safety, which can eventually reduce or even eliminate this type of chronic pain.

As an initial step towards living a life of passion and purpose I am restarting my Massage and Intuitive Touch practice.
It is a time of transition and refinement for me, this is showing up as realizing the importance of embracing and embodying my passions and deeper life work, both for the purpose of living the life I came here to live, and for offering that which I came here to offer.
I believe that we, as physical beings, carry the innate capacity for self-healing, hence the name “Sacred BodyWise”. My intention and purpose as a bodywork professional and budding facilitator of sacred space, is to assist in relieving physical, mental, and emotional tension, allowing for a spaciousness where the body can access and activate its innate wisdom and healing potential.
During a bodywork session with me, we will travel together on a journey where I will listen to your body’s needs both through palpation and intuition. I will respond with a toolkit of Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Stretching and Intuitive Energy Work based in Reiki and Qi Gong principles.
I carry a deep reverence and respect for these magical vessels which house our Sacred Souls along the progression of life and evolution. I know how much abuse our bodies experience by simply existing and am here to hold a space where your body can let-go in a womb of love, presence, acknowledgement and nourishment while working out aches and pains on physical, mental and emotional levels.
A little about my history:
Although many people know me as a raw, vegan or paleo food creator, my first love is healing touch, and dance, as a vehicle for soul embodiment, and personal liberation.
My life as a hands on healer began when I was still a young child, walking on my mother's back, or rubbing her shoulders from the back seat of the car. By the time I reached pre-school, the kindergarten teacher invited me to rub her shoulders (everyday) in trade for taking my nap with the "big kids". At 8 years old, I was initiated into Reiki and taught how to feel the energy around flowers. In my later teen years I went on to study Qi Gong with Grand Master Tan Tien. By the time I graduated high school I knew that I wanted to study bodywork, and went on to study at Alive & Well Institute for Conscious Bodywork in San Anselmo California. I also knew I wanted to study music and dance which I did by attending the Ali Akbar college of music and dancing in a local middle eastern music and dance ensemble and community.
I practiced as a professional massage therapist for the next 10+ years before shifting my focus to exploring familial roots and spiritual heritage in northern Israel, and later immersing myself in the study of raw and vegan food preparation back here in the bay area. Throughout those later periods, I continued to offer Body, and Energy work occasionally, both in Israel and in the bay, as it is always in my blood, bones and spirit.
As I return to this work and life-long love, I find myself, inspired and feeling more and more on my “path”. I look forward to working with many Women in the bay area, supporting you in feeding your bodies and minds the attention, touch, and presence they are likely longing for.
