✨What Is Reinforcement? ✨
In Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), reinforcement means strengthening a behavior by following it with something meaningful to the learner. Simply put—when a behavior is reinforced, it’s more likely to happen again.
Reinforcement can look different for every individual. It might be praise, access to a preferred activity, extra time with a favorite item, or a sense of accomplishment. What matters most is that reinforcement is individualized, respectful, and motivating.
At Bridging Differences ABA, we use reinforcement thoughtfully and ethically—focusing on encouragement, choice, and positive learning experiences that support confidence and independence. 💙
