During 1:1 sessions, it is always best to capture data in the moment. It is always the most accurate to do so, AND it saves you from needing to remember data as you may be trying to manage behaviors or run other lessons. Our RBT, Andrew, shows us that real-time data can even be captured while at a park outing!

ABA sessions are filled with learning in many different ways. This can look like structured DTT, Task Analysis, and safety instructions. During these sessions, it’s also important to remember to HAVE FUN! 😁 So much learning can happen naturalistically too, and when in doubt, have a bubble party 🥰🫧

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of our former employees, Kristin. She brought so much joy to her peers, clients, and families during her time here. Our hearts go out to her family and friends as they navigate this difficult time ❤️ She will be greatly missed! 🙏

Clinical Management + Admin came together for some amazing team building this week! We played “guess the fact” where we all learned some interesting facts about each other while enjoying a catered lunch😄. We conducted cross-trainings for important policies and procedures, and we ended with creating vision boards. The theme of our vision boards are “Why We Do This Work”. We all put together boards connecting back to the “why” of the work we do in the ABA field. It was a fun afternoon of insight, laughs, and great connection! ♾️💙

BDABA does CalABA! February 28th - March 2nd was full of continuing education and team building! Nine of our clinical management team members were able to attend this yearly conference and learn from many other ABA professionals. Learning is always more fun when you do it as a team! 😊🤜🤛

Daylight Savings can cause disruption to schedules, routines, behaviors, and so much more. Our clinicians decided to turn that all around and hold an afternoon outdoor session with our clients 🌞. Not only did they soak up the sunshine, but they also got to work on generalizing settings and engaging in social play. Kudos to our team for turning a rougher start to a week into a wonderful, natural teaching opportunity!

Communication can come in all shapes and sizes. Many of us may look at mands (requests) as something that is only verbal or spoken. However, our wonderful friend here shows us that communication via PECS and ASL are just as valuable when asking for something. He successfully completes a PECS exchange with his behavior technician to gain access to more bubbles. He also completes an ASL request for "more" with the help of a model prompt to gain access to a block. This goes to show just how powerful ALL forms of communication can be! 🙌 Our staff work tirelessly to create fun and engaging sessions for all of our clients while also teaching them crucial skills to achieve their goals!

Congratulations to our wonderful friend, who spent the last 4+ years with us, on his graduation from ABA!! 🎉 He and his family have worked so hard on his goals over this time, and we are so proud of all that he has accomplished. Thank you to all of the clinical members on our team that have made an impact in his program over his time here, and a huge THANK YOU to his family for supporting him along this journey. We will miss you!! 💙
