As health care continues to evolve, one constant remains: the trusted presence of nurse practitioners (NPs) in communities across the United States. During National Nurse Practitioner Week, November 9–15, 2025, we celebrate these health care professionals whose compassion, advanced training and commitment to personalized care help so many people in our communities lead healthier lives.

NPs are board-certified, clinically trained health professionals who hold graduate-level degrees and complete rigorous education and certification requirements. They are trusted to diagnose illnesses, prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and coordinate care alongside other members of the health care team.

For their expertise, care and compassion, we thank our Family Nurse Practitioners:
Tedi Payne, FNP-C provides primary care at CCMH Medical Mall Clinic.
Brooke McPeak, FNP-C provides primary care at CCMH Medical Mall Clinic and cardiopulmonary services at CCMH Specialty Clinic.

Meet Brooke McPeak, FNP-C. Brooke has been filling in at the clinic while Chandler McKinney, PA-C is on maternity leave. She has been with Cedar County Memorial Hospital since 2014 where she began as an RN in Emergency, Med Surg and Cardiac Rehab Manager. In 2023 she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from University of Central Missouri and became licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Brooke also works within the CCMH Specialty Clinic with Cardiology and Pulmonology patients, providing diagnostic testing, chronic disease management and follow-up care between physician visits. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our friends, family and neighbors, Brooke!

Cedar County Memorial Hospital is pleased to welcome cardiologist, David A. Zuehlke, MD, to its roster of visiting specialists at the CCMH Specialty Clinic. Dr. Zuehlke boasts more than forty years of experience and is known regionally for his expertise and quality outcomes.

Dr. Zuehlke provides consultations for patients with coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, and other heart-related conditions. He will also oversee diagnostic evaluations and offer ongoing care for patients recovering from cardiac events or procedures.

The hospital is also now offering cardiovascular stress testing to include treadmill stress tests and stress echocardiograms.
