I had the joy of moderating a Q&A with Ashley Koff about her new book, Your Best Shot, at our Meet the Author event at .life last week.

These events are such a beautiful reminder of what happens when curiosity, compassion, and community come together.

We gathered in our Gather Room to talk about the deeper layers of weight health, from gut hormones and GLP-1s to food noise, metabolism, and the many factors that influence how we nourish and care for our bodies.

These evenings mean so much to me. I get to see the community gather and grow together in such an intentional way. Our Meet the Author series helps us to learn, to ask questions, and to support one another in building a healthier foundation.

Grateful for every person who joined us!

Last night we gathered in community for a powerful conversation on heart health with three incredible local cardiologists (Dr. Christiane Schaeffler, Dr. Rigved Tadwalkar, and Dr. Ilan Kedan who shared their wisdom and answered your thoughtful questions. šŸ¤ā£
⁣
We explored the true pillars of cardiovascular health — prevention as a daily practice, building the right foundation early, nourishing your body, understanding your personal risk factors and family history, diving into inflammation, and knowing which lab markers and diagnostic tests actually matter. Because when we know better, we can intervene earlier — and live better.⁣
⁣
What I appreciated most was the reminder that medicine doesn’t have to exist in silos. When physicians collaborate, listen, and learn from one another — and from our patients — care becomes deeper, more thoughtful, and more human. ⁣
⁣
These relationships matter.⁣ šŸ«¶šŸ½
⁣
Cardiovascular disease remains the number one killer worldwide, which is exactly why conversations like this are so important. It was an honor to begin this year’s first Longevity Learning Series with such a meaningful topic.⁣
⁣
More dialogue. ⁣
More prevention. ⁣
More community.⁣
More connection.⁣
⁣
Let’s keep going…

Have we met? I’m Jaclyn šŸ’— and I carry a handful of titles that might interest you.

You’re probably here because I’m a functional and family medicine doctor, which makes sense! It’s my deepest passion, despite it being slightly nerdy.

I love helping people understand why their bodies are doing what they’re doing and how to support real healing at the root. My approach to medicine lives in that sweet spot between remembering you’re a human living a real life… and giving you the science-backed answers that actually make things click.

You’ll hear me talk a lot about hormones, metabolism, gut health, nervous system regulation, sleep, and stress… And not as isolated topics, but as a connected system. Because that’s how the body actually works.

I’m also a first-time mom in my 40s to my son, Koa, who always gets the most likes on my feed and rightfully so. He’s real cute, and he’s our miracle after 8 years of fertility struggles post breast cancer.

Being a breast cancer survivor gave me a front-row seat to what it’s like to be a patient, not just a doctor. It changed my relationship with my body, my priorities, and my tolerance for wellness nonsense real quick. You’ll see that perspective woven into what I share here too, which is honest, grounded, and human.

I live in Los Angeles with my husband Charles, our son, and our dog Cali, who has been with us since way before California entered the picture!

This space is where my take on medicine meets real life. I always stay curious about what’s new, what works, and how to share it with my community.

If that sounds like your kind of corner of the internet, you’re in the right place šŸ¤Ā Thank you for being here.

Today, my heart felt so full. šŸ’—

There is something undeniably powerful about women gathering in community—about our nervous systems softening, our energies amplifying, and our wisdom expanding when we come together with intention.

I’m deeply grateful for every person who showed up, and for , , who shared their wisdom and light as we leaned into why the nervous system is foundational to how we live, love, and connect.

These conversations always open doors—to deeper connection with one another, to honest self-reflection, and to what Kelsey so perfectly named as ā€œradical permissionā€ to be exactly who we are, as we are.

Community like this - is where healing begins. šŸ«¶šŸ½

Thank you to Zoe, We Shine Well, gift sponsors, and the Love Life team’s support () for holding such loving, intentional space for us today. And thank you to every woman who joined us—I felt you, truly.

Until next timešŸ’•

We’ve been working behind the scenes for what feels like forever to make this conversation happen, and I’m so excited that it finally is!

On February 25th, we’re hosting an intimate evening at .life focused on all things heart health.

We won’t just be telling you to do more cardio šŸ˜‚

I’ll be joined by three incredible cardiologists for a candid, accessible conversation about cardiovascular wellness.

And if you enjoyed the last time we got together for Longevity Learnings, I know you’ll enjoy this one too. It’s already sold out, but the waitlist is still open!

PCOS is one of the most common hormonal conditions in women, and still one of the most misunderstood. Which is why I wrote about it for

I wrote this piece for every woman who has felt confused, dismissed, or told ā€œeverything looks normalā€ when she knew something wasn’t right and suspects PCOS.

If PCOS has ever touched your life, I hope this brings clarity and relief.

This article will make you exhale, because it’s all about the shift toward intimacy in wellness, rather than chasing metrics and trends.

And if your feed looks anything like mine in the New Year, you could use an exhale right about now rather than another push to be better, yeah?

Last month I was standing in a room full of people who care about the future of women’s health and it reminded me of something:

We are living through a real evolution in healthcare.

Not someday,

not eventually,

right now.

Education, community, women-led innovation, and people who are willing to challenge the old way of doing things are pushing the field forward. This is how we get better research, better access, better tools, and better outcomes.

I feel incredibly grateful to be in the middle of it, as a physician, as a patient, as a woman, and as someone who believes deeply in the power of rewriting the narrative around our health.

To be in a space where medicine, technology, equity, and lived experience all meet (that is where change actually happens).

And to be celebrating my best friend who is walking this talk as the new Women’s Health Medical Director at Function.

And I am honored to be part of the conversation alongside such visionaries in the functional wellness field.
