The Universe surely has a sense of humor to place these two events on the calendar together each year: 🤕 and the 🗺😀

Attempting to “celebrate” both of these things together can be a conundrum any year, but with Covid19 isolation rules increasingly in play, this year feels especially challenging. 🤔

Luckily, riding a bike is great choice for days like today—doing so sure made Dr. Z & Coach Ron feel much happier and more grateful for the opportunity to support people who are dealing with the impact of head injuries. 🚲🌅💙

✨Shoutout to the caregivers!

You are not alone. Although you rarely get a moment to yourselves, we understand that it often feels as though you’re living a life sentence of solitary confinement. We know you make tough choices every day and at the end of the day you’re often too tired to express or explain your OWN needs.😨

You *know* that you need to take care of yourself, but the truth of the matter is that when you are caring for someone with a brain injury, “taking care of yourself” really requires a group effort!🤹🏼

Working with in the South Bay and Westside Areas of Los Angeles (after we all get through this new global health nightmare!!), we will be offering personalized support programs—when and where you need them—along with opportunities to connect with others who share your challenges, frustrations, bewilderment and moments of proud wonderment.👥

It’s OK to be not-OK and we are here for you for it all.🌱

The effort to rebuild one’s life after brain injury is real and it can be quite long. And although the math on this image is technically correct, it’s not an *actual* formal improvement plan. 🌄

Everyone’s improvement journey is different in terms of timing and issues to tackle. What IS true for everyone, however, is that achieving a life filled with meaning and purpose requires moment-by-moment dedication resulting in barely perceptible steps forward/upward.🆙

Be patient with your progress and relentless in your effort. Surround yourself with supportive people as much as possible—especially during this time of social distancing: virtual support may be just the thing you need to stay focused and keep going.
